Stumbled upon this place in search of the Belgian Cafe which was nearby.

This will be short as my time is limited. OPAH is a very small looking store from outside and inside. A bright front with a bunch of neon signs with craft breweries in the window, that's what lured me to this spot. This place is full of beer, in every knook and cranny, in the coolers, inside the cubby where deli's usually store coldcuts and such. Over there, under here, and well you get the picture. A bunch of beer. Some of the beers should of been kept in the cooler as there was some IPA's and the like just sitting out with dust on em. Beer is expensive in Philly so while the prices were high, I totally understand. I think the offerings were a bit lower than foodery's obese pricing methods. OPAH does put prices on the bottles so that is a huge plus. If im in a pinch and in the area, i'll make a stop back.

After many years living in the area, I havent really given this place a shot until recently. Fomerly known as Rose's Deli. Walking by, the place is rather unasuming as you feel as though its just a grab and go for macros and locals and serving deli food just so they can have that privelidge.

Upon entering, you realize how small the space is, but left and right are taken up by a large selection of craft beer in both sixers and bottles. Small run locals, trendy picks from Russian River, Lost Abbey, Firestone Walker, large format Belgians... this place covers a wide range of different beer vibes. Not close to the selction of other bottle shops in the city, but for a neighborhood spot - as close to being considered a gem as you can get.

The employees are friendly, but not very knowledgeable about what they have. They offer suggestions and let ya know whats new and on the way and will hold some things for you. Its the city, so expected to pay a small premium on the singles.

Overall, happy to have finally "discovered" this place after ignoring it for so long.

Stopped in here today on a local BA's recommendation and was not disappointed. As others have mentioned this place is very small with most of the space being taken up by the deli. There are bottles stuffed everywhere and they have a good variety at very reasonable prices. They had beers from Russian River, Lost Abbey, all the local regulars, quite a few Belgians, some Germans as well as Hitachino and a lot of others. I was really impressed with the selection. They had Victory Dark Intrigue which was a nice find. Not many of the beers are in coolers and it isn't organized very well but the searching is part of the fun. They also have a mix a six deal but I didn't get the details. The gentlemen working there wasn't very knowledgeable but he knew what was in stock and was very friendly. If you live in the area it is a must and if you are visiting The Belgian Cafe this is the closest place to get good bottles.

Tiny place, noticed while looking for a place to park. Was surprised by the decent selection in such a small space. As previously stated, they could work on organization and chilling, but I've never been sold a skunk. Nice IPA selection (Stone's Ruination is a fave, and in stock). Great Rouge selection, snatched a fantastic Double Dead Guy that I didn't even know existed. The Lost Abbey, Smuttynose, Allagash, Elysian, Chouffe, Imperial, Port Brewing, Dogfish, Victory, Brooklyn, & Philadelphia are just a few of the brands in large bottles. Cold sixes, and more four packs of specialty brews than you can poke a kilbasa at. Lady that runs the place is happy to help in any regard. Will continue to return.

By the way there are a few tables to sit and enjoy your selected brew. Smoking IS permitted.

This is Pennsylvania, so prices never seem to be inexpensive. Nonetheless, this place was recently purchased (maybe fall). It used to be a run down deli with five sixpacks at any given time. the owner has fixed up all the coolers and the selection is pretty good. I recently picked up Troeg's Nugget Nectar and the last bottle of Sly fox Christmas ale. While the owner isn't a beer person herself, she seems to have a good supplier...the coolers are stuffed to the brim. Currently they also sell pretty good hoagies and homemade soups but have plans to renovate the dining area as well as put in a "real kitchen." If you're near the art museum/Eastern State Penitentiary, this is a good place to pick up a six pack for a picnic 9or if you live here). A welcome addition to the neighborhood, there's no longer a need to drive to the foodery for a six.
