Pour a hazy, dark orange-brown color, darker than other Belgian strong pale ales I've had. The head is cream-colored and about 4 fingers high. Both head retention and lacing are very good.
Aromas are made up of spicy hops, some citrus, and caramel malts that give it a sweet smell.
The taste is more dry than I expected based on the aromas. Very spicy and dry, with a moderate level of hop bitterness and a little tartness. The malts make for a nice balance. Other flavors are cinnamon and pepper.
Mouthfeel is very creamy and has a medium-to-high amount of carbonation. The aftertaste is fairly dry, coupled with spices and hops. I also get a bit of alcohol warming.
Overall a pretty interesting take on the style from the brewer. It tasted kind of like a barleywine with added spices.
Thanks to TheBishopco for this one!

On tap. Deep amber with a bit of foam. Decent lacing. Malty aroma with bread and a bit of fruit. A bit too cold, so the taste is muted. The malt carries through with vanilla and caramel. A bit more fruit comes through as it warms. The alcohol isn't as evident as I would have expected. Nice heavy mouth. This is a really nice Belgian. Very balanced.
