12 ounce pour into a pint glass.
Appearance: As black as my soul. There was a nice, tan head, but it went away as soon as I started drinking it. All that remains is a thin ring around the border.
Smell: Faint chocolate and coffee aromas. A bit of roasted malt to back it up. Sweet and charcoal-y.
Taste: Very clean and smooth porter. There’s a deep roasted character, but it’s not overwhelming. It’s dry and fades slowly. A bittersweet chocolate flavor emerges as it warms.
Mouthfeel: Silky smooth.
Overall: I like it. Modest at 6% ABV, and drinkable all day. Perfect for the cold weather that seems to be blowing in.

Had this at mcNellies, Tulsa
Poured ebony/black with a pinky of tan head, dropped away quickly. Some lacing & head retention
S: Charred grain & cocoa, faded a bit as it warmed
T: Chocolate with hints of chicory up front, plus some herbal hops. A nice mixture of baker's choclate, roasted malt & dryness as this warmed. Finished dry & semi-sweet
MF: Very smooth with medium body
Drank very easy indeed, will happily drink this again, given the chance

On tap at Republic okc. Pours a deep brown with thick head into nonic pint glass. It leaves lots of sticky lacing. Smells like malty chocolate. Taste is very similar; roasted malts, chocolate and some bitter hops. Its surprisingly hoppy for a porter but very good and full of flavor. Overall, a really good porter. Very drinkable and enjoyable. OKC is really surprising me with their brews...

I'm a very poor reviewer of beers... I get a kick out of reading these reviews though sometimes and trying to see if I can catch any of what others are tasting.
All I can say is that basically, this is an incredibly solid porter. Maybe one of the best that I've had from a local brewery anywhere I've been.
Sorry, that's about as much as I can say. LOL It's defiantly full flavored and not to be missed.

A really fantastic Oklahoma beer, without a doubt this is my favorite year round porter available in the state. Poured with a fantastic looking two finger mocha colored head, the beer is a deep brown, almost black in color.
Roasted malt aroma, mild coffee, cocoa, all of the usual suspects. The flavors all work together perfectly, coffee in the beginning, touch of sweetness, and then bitter chocolate finish.
The mouth feel is medium, smooth and creamy, with just a light-medium amount of carbonation.
Overall, a really fantastic beer! Doesn't get enough recognition in this state, it's overlooked by some of the other heavy hitters in COOP's lineup. But drink this beer one time and you will see that is has the goods to stand on it's own.

Mighty fine. Excellent porter, maybe leaning into Stout territory.
Inky black with a generous tan head. Toasty malt aroma.
Flavor is rich and earthy. Dry. Definitely some coffee and cocoa. Toasted bread. A tinge of mollases maybe (reminds me of Bridgeport's Stout) Lingering aftertaste.
Nice mouthfeel, medium bodied. Very drinkable.
A great porter. With just a little more something (not sure what) it could be extraordinary.

Taken in at room temperature at TapWorks in Bricktown.
A- Deep brown, not quite black with a thick, mocha colored head of about 1 finger. Average retention with some really sticky lacing.
S- Big coffee and chocolate notes here. Lots of roasted aroma as well.
T- Good job of following the nose. Lots of coco again. Some coffee. Sweet with some unexpected bitterness in the finish. I'm not agraid of a hop presesnce in my porters. Delicious flavor and terrific balance!
M- A very solid feel to this porter based on the abv. Mid to full body. Creamy...almost beefy. Just the way I like my porters. Dry finish is also nice. A true highlight of this beer is the mouthfeel.
O- This beer was magnificent. Chocolate carries the flavor torch, but not to be totally outdone by other intense characteristics. Would certainly have again and hope to see it on tap each time I visit OKC.

P: It was dark in the tavern and the appearance was very light and way too clear. I took a whiff and several sips. Then called the waitress over to explain that she had poured the Coop DNR and that I asked for the porter. Can't beat a free half glass of DNR.
The actual porter came and was much nicer with a dark body and gracious chocolate froth on top.
S: Robust aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted nuts and black pepper.
T/M: Thick chewy body with delicate creamy carbonation. Taste follows the nose with bittersweet cocoa powder, bitter cold coffee, and a touch of dairy creaminess. Touches of smoked wood, but the palate is mostly chocolate goodness. Finish is creamy with a small hint of cayenne powder in the back and leaves your palate thirsty for more.
O: Well this is a fantastically well done porter. The chocolate reigns supreme and the bitter coffee, roasted nutty, spiced character brings it all together. Bar keep can I get another?

Midnight black in color with a creamy tan head. Smell is of mild coffee. Taste is pure bittersweet chocolate up front, with an herbal resionous pine hop middle and finish. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, low carbonation. Drinkability is very good, an excellent porter.
