A straightforward malt body supports the distinctive bouquet of Columbus and Falconers Flight hops that impart citrus, grapefruit and pine notes characteristic of the West Coast style. F5 is a belligerent hop reckoning.

Um is this beer from Oklahoma!?!?! Seriously!? If you are someone from out of town, trust me this beer is not rated high only because its local it is absolutely amazing.

A- Deep golden color nice floral head.

S- Pine Trees blowing in the wind! Love it! Hops come through in bouquets of aromas. Floral hints spread throughout.

T- Fresh as can be! The hops are so balanced by the malt. Not heavy just smooth and wonderful. Alcohol is present, but very well hidden.

M- Covers the palate wonderfully. Bitterness is balanced out. goes down smooth and easily. light on the tongue.

D- WOW! Why don't I have this for sale in my store yet?! Can or bottle this please so I can have one every night. I always say that once you have had an F5 your mouth will never forget. Truly an amazing beer and its an IPA! Thanks COOP for this bad boy!

Yay tall boy cans. Thanks to Matt for tossing this one my way. A sticker on it says 8.10, perhaps a best by date? Perhaps that was the price (although odd at 10 cents), not quite sure.

Pours a decent 1/2 finger foamy frothy head that fades at a med to slower pace, decent lines of lacing, a semi clear slight chill hazed nectar orange color with a bright reddish hue,

Nose starts with some hops followed quickly by a sweet candy like malt, juicy toasty base malt with a touch grainy notes. HOps are not as strong as I expected initially, but definitely plenty there, a bit piney, hint of resin, with some mild citrus and grapefruit like notes, a little pith, and some spicy piney earthy forest floor like notes.

Taste brings a bit of malt to start, a juicy but big malt base, mild sweetness, fluffy creamy malt feel, with a little caramel note and grainy taste, and chased with a touch of alcohol as well. Then hops, quite bitter but not overly, candied orange peel and pine mostly, some earthy pine forest floor notes, a little spicy as well and a little resin, with some light citrus, and a bit of grapefruit pith and bitter grapefruit notes. Finish is dry-ish, with a little sticky sweet candy malt lingering, a hint of booze, quite bitter as it ramps with spicy piney hops mostly, little candied orange peel lingering.

Mouth is med to a bit heavier bod, decent carb.

Overall good but not as great as I hoped. Booze actually comes through a bit when it shouldn't, quite bitter as expected, hops have less of the grapefruit and citrus than I expected, and more piney and earthy spicy, not really what I'd call the original definition of "west coast IPA" even though that doesn't really apply anymore, but not quite there either, perhaps not as fresh as it could have been, but still a decent IPA and drinkable, I'm just nitpicking things here.

Last of a 4-pack picked up while in Oklahoma City, got pretty lucky with this random choice.

Appearance - Dark copper orange, off-white head. Thick ring, slight cap remain.

Smell - Good amount of peach, grapefruit, and earthy hop to be had, but also surprisingly malt-forward, which works here. Reminds me of dried apricots soaked in caramel, or something.

Taste - Taste is a little hoppier, leaning more towards piny and resiny, with citrus, pineapple and melon there as well. Malt presence is still pretty nice, tons of sugar cookie caramel. Provides an ample backbone, without any bleh cloy to it.

Mouthfeel - Very smooth, decent amount of bitterness, great carbonation, pretty easy drinking.

Overall - Hop profile more-than-satisfies and blends well with big caramely malts.

Poured into an IPA glass. The lquid is a darkish translucent golden orange. The pour produces a significant three-finger off-white head that takes several minutes to die down, and leaves lots of lace as you drain the glass. Tons of bubbles rise up through the liquid. Classic IPA appearance.

Aroma is citrusy hops, with hints of sweet malt underneath. Orange zest, sugar cookie, etc, etc, etc. Wonderful!

Flavor follows the nose - citrusy hops well-balanced by bready malts. Maybe a little bit of mint in there. Finish is pretty bitter and drying (maybe a little too much for my taste), but the aftertaste is pleasantly citrusy, creating a nice counterpoint.

Mouthfeel is moderately thick, little bit oily, with heavy carbonation - to style.

Overall, super well-executed IPA. Really well-balanced, but just tongue-shredding enough.

At Upper Crust in Edmond. Served in a shaker pint with grapefruit garnish, which I quickly discarded. Pours to a generous head that leaves symmetrical lacing all the way down. Orange-gold and hazy. Aroma is grapefruity, piney hops and not much else. Flavor is a rush of the same hop characters that are balanced by a subtle malt backdrop. Mouthfeel is medium and slightly sugary. Alcohol warmth is evident. Overall a very good AIPA.
