Nice funky atmosphere, cool looking setup behind the bar. Skeeball machines are always a plus. Small and slightly chaotic merch area, was at the opposite end, with plenty of small tables in between. Great selection of beers, some nitro, some barrel aged, and even a firkin to choose from. Prices were well marked, fairly reasonable, and bartender was quick and prompt to assist. She definitely seemed to know several regulars, but still made sure to answer questions for others. No real food to choose from. Plenty of ways to take beer to go, crowlers, glass growlers, and what appeared to be nice insulated metal ones as well. No food here, but Homemade Liquids and Solids was maybe 1/2 mile away.

I was fortunate enough to find some time and made it to the Oskar Blues Tasty Weasel Tap Room on 07/26/13 during a family vacation. Very cool to have the brewery as a backdrop for tasting one of my favorite brands. In Summer this is an open-air tap room as they open the overhead doors that create a huge opening on one side of the brewery allowing access from a large outdoor deck to the inside tap room. The bar is quite long and there are many tables and benches inside and out. They fill growlers and sell canned product from a cooler next to the bar. The swag shop sits in a corner. The atmosphere promotes beer, cool mountain air, music, and people. There are some bar snacks, but they don't really have food there. However, their Homemade Liquids and Solids restaurant is just a few blocks away - and it's very good. Beers can be ordered in 4, 10, and 16oz. A flight of all 7 standard beers (4oz each) is offered for $9. You'll also find a board which lists all special brews being served. I had a TenFidy since it was out of season in cans (dammit), a Deviant Dale's, and a Gubna. Super fresh Deviant and Gubna! Hell yeah! I also enjoyed one of the special brews - One Nut Brown Ale. Great brown ale. The two girls working the bar were fast, accommodating, and like to dance a little when their favorite songs play. Their BBQ truck was also parked outside the door for anyone who wanted some quality grub. If you love OB brews, you need to stop here when opportunity knocks.

Atmosphere is very casual if a little raucous. Wood floors with peanut shells everywhere. A large bar and plenty of tables. There's an outdoor area as well that echoes the vibe of inside.

The brewery tour is free. The tasting is not. Service is prompt and friendly with the right amount of attitude. It's a fun place and you can eat all the peanuts you want. Tastings are reasonable and prices vary depending on the beer you're tasting. You can also pick the size from a couple of ounces to a full pour.

What else can you say about a brewery that has Skee-Ball? Tap line-up features the core OB brands, as well as some limited and rare releases. Chardonnay Mama's was fantastic! New addition of the outside deck makes this a wonderful destination in the warm Colorado months.

Place was very packed and built in the tradition of many modern brewpubs... something that lost the charm of the location in Lyons. As always Oskar Blues makes great beer. Selection was good as to be expected and service suffered a little due to the business of the place. I did not have any food. Call me sentimental, but I like the old place better.

Nice place. Tried on a recommendation while visiting the area. New to the brewery and the beers. Very impressed with the beers. It's a reasonably large place. Another industrial park micro brewery location, but IMO, those are usually the best. The bartender was very friendly and talkative, but not in a bad way. Gave some great recommendations based on what I like. (Side note, barrel-aged Gubna, pretty damn good) The beers were reasonably priced for the quality, some even on the inexpensive side. Very laid back and casual setting, perfect for sitting back, relaxing, and enjoying a variety of good beers with friends.

It's now Sergio's turn to pick a brewery, and right from the start he wanted to visit Oskar Blues. As there are multiple locations, I wasn't sure which was he was thinking of visiting. I thought we would be visiting the original location in Lyons, but as soon as I punched in the address he handed to me into the GPS, I knew it wasn't Lyons. So much for being at the foothill of the Rockies.

We headed into the parking lot of a warehouse district. Lots of parking, and to my surprise not packed to brim like New Belgium or Odell. A few tables were open, peanuts available for everyone to scoop and carry to their tables. Brewery merchandise is available at one side of the room, and offers things from posters to cycling tops to hot sauce. There's a small sepearte room which has a skeeball table, and whre one can get a glimpse of all those tanks and canning line (not in action at the time). A lot of sterile metal all around the place, yet had been kept alive by a good Saturday crowd.

In addition to what you can get in cans (Dale Pale Ale, Old Chub, Gubna, Ten Fidy), Oskar Blues offers a few special variants of their beers, from whiskey barrel aged to sour Ten Fidy, which rotates on a weekly basis. Adding to the tally are a couple collaboration brews from aluminum bottles and a root beer. I got to try the sour Ten Fidy, which was interesting, and Deviant Dale's for the first time (rips your palate to shreds). Later I shared a bottle of their collaboration called "The Deuce". Good beers all around in the lineup. Perhaps their one weakness is a lack of proper glassware, lots of clunky shaker pints for us.

Good, accessable service at the bar, and occasionally at the table. We spent a couple hours here with intense Oskar Blues beer, and it's something I wouldn't turn down when I get a second chance.

What to add that hasn't already been said this is well worth the visit if you're in the area. Ok so I'm from out of town so maybe if you're local you might have a different opinion. I truely enjoyed the open bar/tasting area leading out to the deck on a great summer afternoon. They were canning 30' from the bar which was cool a little loud but not loud enought that you couldn't enjoy the live music.
I got smoked wings from the outside food truck after the guys said they won award's 2 years in a row for best wings in Denver. They were some damn good wings.
The beer what can I say if your a fan nothing bets fresh Dales Pale Ale. I had a sample of all the offerings which I believe was 8 different ones. I enjoyed the Mama's little Yella Pils aged in Chardonnay barrels just the right amount of oak. Cheers

This was such a fun trip. The tour is terrific. Admittedly, I have been a big fan of OB for a long time and love that they can. Their taproom was fun, with a great food truck intheir parking lot. The tour guide did not dumb down the trip, but shared how dedicated they are to their current projects (eg - barrel aging, Herradura, Leopolds, Buffalo Trace).
Couple suggestions: cute wait staff is nice if they love the gig. However, one of these young ladies was disinterested and borderline rude. A little more info about the brewery and the selections would have been welcome. These are small complaints about a great place. But, it affects the perception of this wonderful brewery.

Brewerry #3 on CO beercation.

This brewery is located about 12 miles north of Boulder on the Diagonal Highway in Longmont. About 10 years ago I visited the original location in Lyons and was looking forward to checking another Oskar Blues location with my wife, especially since they began to can and distribute the beers. Frankly, I haven’t cared for their canned beer because it has often been flat, and I do recall enjoying their beers during my visit to Lyons.

As you drive to this location, don’t be tempted to stop at the large free standing building with Oskar Blues logo plastered on giant faux grain silos that is, I am not kidding, two blocks from the actual brewery. This is their restaurant, and doesn’t technically count as a brewery. Pass this location and hang a right and you will find the production brewery and tap room. Walking up the steps you will find a large tap room with tables and long bar, with a gift shop to the right. My wife and I had a sampler paddle that included; Dale’s Pale Ale, Old Chub (Scottish Ale), G’Knight Imperial Red, Mama’s Little Yella Pils, Ten Fidy (Imperial Stout), Gubna (Imperial Red), Deviant Dales’ (IPA). The stand outs were the Dale’s Pale ale, Deviant Dales’, and the Ten Fidy. There were other additional seasonals and one offs but we had pints of the Deviant and the Dales’. I must say that the cans do not do this beer justice, as the freshness and drinkability of the beer was amazing.

The vibe is laid back with dogs on the patio, cyclists hanging out, beer travelers, and other locals. No food is available except from food trucks. If you ask real nice you can have some free stickers. Service was excellent.

Thankfully I don’t live close to OB because it is an excellent place to hand out over a couple of pints and I might never leave.

PS. They are building another location (restaurant? In Boulder)
