The Roggenbier is a new style for me, though the label calls it a 'Scandinavian Farmhouse Ale'.

Appearance - Dark amber/brownish color with some floaties/haze. Thick off-white head retains well as a full cap, not much lace left.

Smell - A mix of toasty and sweet malts. Dark rye bread, caramel, molasses, some fruity Belgian yeasts, nutty malts, slight chocolate, even vanilla somehow. Doppelbock-ish with some Belgian-y hints. Pretty nice but strength fades with time.

Taste - A little less complex than the scent but seems more put together. Caramel, dusty chocolate, lots of dark bread, molasses, some dark fruit. Not particularly getting rye or Belgian/farmhouse elements. Mostly a malt bomb with just tiny bits of floral+herbal hops. A bit on the sweet side.

Mouthfeel - Great smooth and malty feel with ample carbonation. Somewhat hefty but pretty well-hidden alcohol.

Overall - The rye malt is kind of lost on me, but judging this as a German malt bomb/bock-type beer this is pretty great. Some unique touches, solid and enjoyable overall.

Bottle: Poured a deep clear brown color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention with some light lacing. Aroma of light spicy rye notes with some light hoppy notes. Taste is also dominated by light spicy rye notes with medium hoppy finish with light residua sugar notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Enjoyable but not really memorable.

Beer Here Nordic rye ale

Appearance: cloudy caramel, medium-large head, and some nice lacing.

Smell: rich malts, toffee, and light hops.

Taste: nice rounded pleasant hops, chocolate, and a rye backbone.

Mouthfeel: medium, smooth, and very pleasant.

Overall:
This brew is really great. It can be easily drank and has a great mouthfeel. The aroma is very nice as well. It actually feels pure and clean while going down. I associate it with the charcoal cleaned Jack Daniel's mouthfeel.

Pours amber with a large head.
Nose shows bready and nutty malt along with sweet melanoidin notes and a spicy, bready rye hit.
Big malt notes as flavours but there's a weird minty note throughout too.
Carbonation is pretty damn aggressive.
Interesting stuff.

Pours a gorgeous, rich pinot noir colour, clear and red throughout. Slight pink tinge to the head which is lovely and thick, nice and tightly packed together. Awesome retention. Just looks magnificent.

Smells lovely as well. Quite dark, with a slight roasty edge, mildly vinous but very rich. Lovely rye spice coming through strongly, giving earthy, peppery notes and a slight acidity on the back. Sultry and inviting, for sure.

Taste is dark, and quite brooding. Spicy rye notes combine with mild roast to give a piquant espresso character midway. Big grain bomb, then the yeast takes hold towards the back, twisting towards a slight earthy funk and a touch of acidity. Mild resinous note as well and a touch of booze towards the back. The two halves are distinct, but blend well and complement each other beautifully. Great balance, and great contrast as well. This is a wonderful, exciting beer.

Smooth texture. Booze is not noticeable on the mouthfeel at all, or if it is it's just to warm the cockles. Gorgeous.

I enjoyed this brew on a midsummer evening, but the weather was on the cooler side. Even still I can see this being enjoyed year-round. It's got the spice and warmth of a winter beer but the fresher saisony notes as well. Absolute cracker.

Big thanks for getting me this and thus completes all the styles reviewed.

Poured from a 500ml. bottle.

Appearance: Very murky brown body. Cascading effect the color of burnt caramel that segues into a light ecru head with average retention but some milky lacing.

Smell: Rye bread, some pepper, light spicing. Not bad.

Taste: Rye, tinge sweet, burnt sugar, cloves, various spices. Bit barleywine-ish with some smoke and a spicy bite.

Mouthfeel: Carbonation is lively and the body is solid.

Overall: Very drinkable and not as different as i thought it would have been. Glad to complete the round of styles!
