Pours into a nonic a deep amber shade with large blooming off white head that leaves multiple 'globs' of lace behind.Aromas are earthy with some caramel, dough, and sharp spice and grapefruit rind.Flavors are resiny and spicy with underlying caramel/biscuit,love the resin.Oh hell yeah,it's not tropical punch,it's a beer from 2003,love it!

Appearance:
Lightly hazed amber body crowned with a 2 finger thick head and plenty of carbonation. Retention is decent and lacing is ample.

Aroma:
Whiskey and hops! The unmistakable aroma of rye blends effortlessly with earthy and lightly acidic citrus hops. Light pepper.

Taste:
Follows the aroma nicely, making that a very enjoyable IPA! The bitter bite is present, but not as in-your-face as most. Right upfront you get your bitterness and hop notes (mostly grassy) with plenty of pepper and spice. There is no real sweetness here to speak of. There is a moderate burn from the alcohol which is surprising, considering it's only 6.5% ABV. (It should be noted that bitterness increases significantly with spicy food pairing - YUM!)

Mouthfeel:
Smooth and easy to drink. On the lighter side of medium-bodied and moderately carbonated. Semi-dry finish.

Overall:
A rather tasty IPA and well worth picking up. I enjoyed every sip! I have no frame of reference, as I believe this is my first exposure to the style, but believe me when I say, "I WILL seek out more!" Cheers!

Finally getting around to reviewing some Beer Here, I've enjoyed most of their stuff in the past.

Appearance - Slow gusher. Pour to a pint glass is hazy light orange with a towering off-white head that overstays its welcome. Doesn't fall under a finger the whole time, clumpy, overbearing, etc.

Smell - Eh, not nearly as hoppy as expected. Really just pale and caramel malts with maybe the slightest whiffs of floral and spicy hops.

Taste - Taste is definitely an improvement, although it is admittedly still a bit on the weak side for an "IPA" as well. Nice variety of American and German hop flavors that include grapefruit, pineapple, floral, herbal, spicy; definitely some rye there as well, but sweet/bready/pale malts are still a bit too present and powerful.

Mouthfeel - A bit on the oily side, medium carbonation, somewhat hefty feeling. Quite malty with light bitterness.

Overall - Hm, this seemed off. It comes off as past its prime but it's pretty fresh. The uber-head/gushing also hints towards an infection/bad bottle perhaps? Either way, not awful, seems to have potential, just kind of unfortunate in its blandness.

I don't review much these days and generally use "Hads" but this only had one review so figured I throw in my comments.

Pours a clear medium dark amber orange with a an initial full and thick white head that fades relatively quickly. Nice looking.

Nose is super fruity with sweet oranges, lemons and pineapple; lots of nice esters if not perhaps just a bit too sweet on the nose.

Mouthfeel is somewhat creamy, pleasant and a true medium body with nice "lighter" carbonation.

Flavor profile is the weakness. Nose promises more. This "just misses" at every point flavor wise. Front palate hits you with a bit of sweet/citric/bitter and you wait for the acid and you wait for the real hit of flavors pomised only to be left hanging.

It promises and doesn't come through, leaving a rather bland and flat pine bitter finish that is boring and without appeal. I expected some rye spice and got it in nose and in that first hit on the palate - again, only to be left hanging. Not one I'd likely drink again.

Hey baby, how's it hoppin' tonight? Sexy blonde with amber/gold highlights and a nice head of hair. Oh yeah. Wait a minute, there's a grasshopper on the label?

Sweet and spicy with the unmistakable essence of rye. Nelson Sauvin hops? There is a mango (or some kind of citrus) aroma in the nose. I'm terrible with my exotic hops.

Mmm. Spicy, bready and fruity. Great combination in the mouth. Very tasty. Balanced. Drinks like a regular pale ale dialed up to 11. I love it!

The finish is clean and chewy at the same time. Lots of bread. It's perfection in my mouth!

I'm going to go ahead and list this as a rye beer because it's a style that deserves more respect. The IPA part is secondary to the tasty rye notes.
