What to say about this place?

It's average in every way other than size. The place is huge. The front space is the bar and a number of pub tables. The back is the kitchen and short dinner tables. Every wall has a tv or some fake price of athletic nostalgia.

The beers are well done and represent the styles well. Unfortunately they aren't so well done that they distinguish themselves as being protectors of tradition...more like faximilies of good books so-to-speak.

The staff sucked. There's no way around it. Unfamiliar with the menu and unattentive.

My opinion is that this place could do well with a 2nd bar in the back and more taps if other local and regional crafts. They have only a handful of their own (maybe 5 at any time).

It's a RockBottom model in the city that started the RockBottom, you gotta bring your A-Game of you want to be a place like this in boulder and be recognized. Apparently it's still relatively new, maybe it'll work some issues out.

This is the same location as Redfish, but they have completely redone the inside. Still has a nice patio, with a big bar just inside the door, and then the rest of the place is long and narrow with a large stage back by the brewing equipment. Quite a few beers on tap, ranging from decent to pretty good, nothing jumping out at me. The menu is all over the place, from Asian to pub food with some Mexican thrown in too. Cincinnati chili, Po'boys, Irish nachos - huge mix of food with no discernible theme - I think they've decided to throw it all at the wall, and see what sticks. The food we tried was decent, but why not pick a style and stick to it? I want to like this place .. but it just seems to be completely devoid of any soul. I don't really understand why this would be, because its the same owners of a local restaurant called Foolish Craig's, which is full of soul! This definitely seems like an Applebee's of brewpubs - I'd rather go to a chain like Rock Bottom. Overall, the place is fine - the happy hour deals seem good, the beer was decent .. but I can't think of any reason I'd want to go back. Add some personality to the place and it could be great - right now I'd definitely pass unless there was a good music act playing.
