Purchased this as a single from Wine Society in Tyngsborough, MA for $3.99. There was a bottled day on the cap, but it was unreadable.
Appearance: Poured into a St.Bernardus chalice, an ulfiltered orange color with an off white creamy head.
Smell: sweet phenols and yeast, like a belgian ale should smell.
Taste: a mildly sweet maltiness, kind of fruity, accented by a little spice. Has a very mild bitterness in the finish.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied, decently carbonated.
Drinkability: The moderate amount of alcohol in the brew is ideal for an extended session as it doesn't have the impact that perhaps a Duvel would have, but is almost as tasty.

750 ml bottle into signature tulip glass, best before 2/7/2016. Pours lightly cloudy bright golden amber color with a 2-3 finger dense and fluffy white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with plenty of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, banana, clove, pepper, floral, grass, wheat, light honey, light bread, and floral earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of malt, hop, and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, banana, clove, pepper, floral, grass, wheat, bread, light honey, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of light fruits, banana, clove, pepper, wheat, light honey, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Excellent balance and complexity of malt, hop, and yeast ester flavors; with a great malt/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a smooth and crisp mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent Belgian blonde ale. All around great balance and complexity of malt, hop, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. Really enjoyed this one.
