(12 oz can, 23 310, 6 VON; purchased cold six-pack at Wine Barrel... poured into a 500 ml lager glass)

L: curiously amber-colored liquid with a mild haze (which never disappears); almost 2-finger high foam stand... keeps a thin collar, no lace

S: malty like a malt liquor from the US or Germany... a sweetish soft pretzel?... more than a hint of caramel or malt syrup... reminds me of some import German bocks or dark lagers, approaches that territory

T: sweetdough maltiness with a champagne-like, acidic fruit bite on the end... dry, doughy aftertaste; bready like a fast food bun... barely bitter

F: moderate roundness and plump plushness to its body; the carbonation and acidity sizzle off any significant residual viscosity

O: country #49, sort of... huh, was not expecting such maltiness and color... unlike any American adjunct lager I've had, outside of mid-strength malt liquors; the comment below about Scotch Ale mixed with Mexican lager is not far off... not bad, not great; noticeably bold for the 'style', best drunk COLD... I may just cook with it (2258)

12oz can (coded HDN0261) poured into 16oz tulip. Poured a clean, clear, bright light gold color with over an inch of white head that had good retention and light-moderate lacing.

The aroma was sweet, grain and corn mostly, and had very light floral hops.

Similar on the tongue, just sweeter.

The body was a bit fuller than the light of the style, was smooth, a bit sticky and had a sweet finish that lingered a bit.

Drinkability was OK, fairly typical for the style, but you're not left craving another.

Overall, a fairly average light lager. Worth grabbing for the tick.

Picked up a sixer of this at the beer and wine class on 355 today because it was different and I hadn't seen it before. A lot of sweet graininess up front but it mellows a bit and has a bit of balance in the aftertaste and a clean finish. Just another overpriced central American adjunct, although you could do worse.

From the can, it pours a clear yellow golden color with a nice white head. Lacing. In the nose, it has a grainy scent. In the mouth, a light grainy flavor. A perfect beer for after a bit of hard work in this hot weather!

Cerveza ligera, de carbonatación media y con un dedo de espuma de poca retención. Aromas débiles a maíz. En boca es acuosa y ligeramente amarga. Simple y plana.

i have never seen this in the states before now, i think this is my first beer from honduras! very exciting! its another global macro lager, nothing really groundbreaking or distinctive about it, but it is better than many of its peers, especially in latin america, and it works great with seafood, for whatever thats worth. golden and as light as they get, this looks like carbonated and clarified chicken broth or something, insanely light, as carbonated as they get, and actually holding some head, which is not always the case with these. not much aroma to it, but that can be a good thing with an adjunct lager, no metallics, no stale character, no chemical, its basic but its not messed up and its not gross. the same is true with the flavor, and while i dont get much grain or hops, i also dont get any of the usual off flavors in the style. i get just a light cereal profile towards the end, flash of bitterness which must be hop derived but has almost no flavor, and a crisp and brilliant lagered finish, refreshing and crushable, with a light honey note to it, off dry. it worked great with spicy peel and eat shrimp, and pretty well with a catfish poboy. this beer stands above many of its peers for me...
