Appearance: pale golden/straw; medium frothy white head, decent lacing

Smell: malt with light hops and citrus; reminds me of a Radler in aroma

Taste: Juicy malt on the sweeter side; light hops, but just enough to balance the sweetness; clean and crisp; nothing special, but a decent brew for a hot day

Mouthfeel: medium body, slightly creamy

Remarks: Gift from a friend of my wife; pretty pleased overall

Thanks to angrypirate06 for sharing this beer.

The beer pours macro yellow with a white head. The aroma is corny macro. The flavor is more of the same with corn, rice and some malt sweetness. Just your basic adjunct flavor here. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

A yellow beer from another country that was not bad. Neutral smell. Some bitterness which makes it reasonably drinkable. Middling mouthfeel. Corn and sugar but not too oppressive.
Thanks Josh for doing a fairly fresh bottle. I could do this at the end of a hot day.

I'd call this a completely decent beach beer. There was a fair share of DMS and the aroma reminds me of corn casserole. The flavor is a basic, but fairly clean, crisp bready malt character that drops the mild spiced corn aroma. Yes, the label says "Export" but this just tastes like your basic pale Euro lager with a hint of fruit that most American lagers lack.

Very pale yellow with a white head of good volume.
Aroma of grainy pale malts, hops and some off scents.

Taste isn't bad except for a strong off-flavor I beleive to be metallic. Possibly due to the can. Grainy, sweet pale malts with a decent hop balance. Pilsner style per the labeling is definitely a stretch, but the hopping is decent for a pale lager. My neighbor that brought this back from Honduras said it tasted better in the bottle and actually did have decent hopping.

Mouthfeel is probably the beer's strongest point, but that's not saying a whole lot.
Very light, but off-flavors knock down the drinkability.

Overall, a below average beer, but I wouldn't mind trying it in a bottle just to see if there's much difference in the metallic flavor.

From a 355 ml. green can and poured into a cylindrical glass. Pours a deep clear straw with 3/4 of an inch of fluffy white head. Offers decent retention and lacing throughout the glass.

Notable adjuncts and sweetness on the nose. Creamed corn in a sense, not atypical for the latitude and rather neutral in that sense.

A bit bready and coarse in flavor yet has a lingering sweetness that is a touch off. Reminds me of corn syrup in a sense. Decent body and a slightly chewy texture tries to rebound from the oddness in flavor but doesn't quite pull it off. Offers a creamy simple finish.

Noted as a crisp and refreshing premium Pilsner on can.

12oz bottle. Pours clear yellow/green with a surprisingly ample, fizzy white head. Smells of typical macro lager adjuncts, though with a slightly malty kick to it that makes it a bit more pleasant on the nose. Very similar taste--like any other nasty adjunct lager, but somewhat more substantial. Light body. As bad as this is, it's quantifiably better than BMC stuff, at the least.

A- Well this one has the same basic coloration as its' sister brews....that being of light grassy/grainy color, and it is super clear. The head is actually quite nice, starting out rather thick and cloud like, before settling into a thick egg white like film over the beer. The lacing is nice too, actually having thick clumps of foam that cling to the side of my glass. As expected, there is aggressive carbonation rising to the top, suggesting a fizzy lager!

S- The aromas are fairly clean here, and suggest adjuncts, which isn't a surprise. There is some malt sweetness, but it is muted. Boiled corn and/or rice are noticed as well, and there is no hop bitterness to smell.

T- The flavor of this one is stronger than its' sister beers, that having a flavor of sweetness, but it seems to be more of a maltodextrin type sweet....not the richer malt I was hoping for. There is more of the corn noted....more like sweet tinned corn so that doesn't go well for me. The finish has a cloying sweetness that lingers....there is really no hop bitterness to be noted here.

M- Medium-ish body, but that, I feel, is due to the added adjunct and/or sweetener to the mix. The carbonation isn't quite as bristly as I thought it would be and is actually quite pleasant....actually has a creamy quality about it!

O- Out of all 4 of this brewerys' products, this one is probably the best in terms of flavor, fullness, aroma, and most definitely looks. Still not one of the better beers out there, it serves it's purpose and if I had to drink this one again, I wouldn't complain...I probably woundn't seek this one out again though, unless on vacation in the Honduras! Average at best, I've definitely had worse!

Out of the 3 beers available in the Bay Islands this one was by far the worst. Grainy, corn, taste that was very hard to choke down along with a little skunk flavor. One of these was enough for me, if you have to choose go with Salva Vida for a beer in Honduras

Port Royal has a very thick, frothy head, which is much like whipped cream- very unusual. Lots of frosty lacing is left behind on the glass. Carbonation is medium to high, and the beer has an overriding bready aroma. Taste is a fine balance of grain and hops, but both are subdued, and it comes across almost as a champagne-style brew, not unlike Miller High Life, but with a lighter body. Mouth-feel is light and watery, and Port Royal finishes crisp and refreshing. I was happy that the green bottle had no associated skunkiness. Overall, this is a very good beer.

Pours a pale yellow with a substantial head that lingers. Leaves wild lacing like I haven't seen before.

Malty nose, nothing special.

Taste is very malty and smooth.

This was sampled in a hotel restaurant in Honduras after having toured the Copan ruins and had little to choose from. Glad to have tried it and found quite acceptable for the middle of Central America.

12 oz green bottle pours a very clear yellow color with a decent sized white head. Retention is excellent and the lacing might be the best I've seen on a Central American brew.

Nose is kind of stinky, not unlike a fart. Not green-bottle skunky, but this is more of a sweet, grainy manure smell. Bad, very bad.

Dortmunder? Tastes more like an Adjunct lager to me. I would be shocked if this was all malted barley. Cereal grains are very sweet and not balanced at all by even a mere hint of hops. Mouthfeel approaches cloying, just too sweet. Does not taste as bad as it smells, but bad enough to contemplate drain pourage.

Got this from my parents when they went on a cruise of the islands down south.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle.

Appearance: IMO, strongest point of the beer. Pours a pale, clear yellow with incessant carbonation. Fairly large head that looks like fluffy clouds.

Smell: Very faint grassy aroma.

Taste: Cereal-like character but not much else, taste fades very fast.

Mouthfeel: Slightly better than taste, light-bodied, a bit watery, maybe some fruit (papaya?).

Drinkability: Drinks fairly easy but there's not much going for it. Taste is kind of weak.

Overall: When a beer's appearance is it's strongest point, not a good sign. But it's more drinkable than some other down-south brews.

Bottle shared by solidfunk (RB), 12oz green bottle into a tulip. RARE HONDURAS TICK.

Clear pale yellow, white head with good retention and lacing. Nose is doughy, crackery, spicey hops and a bit of urine. Taste is doughy, grainy, old fruit, socks and some malt sweetness. Low carbonation, light palate and mild bitterness. Not at all tasty, pass.

I tried 4 beers on my day in Honduras, and this was probably the best one. It actually tasted like a beer and not a corny vegetable soup! Not much hops, not much aroma, but a decent smooth barleyish taste that was a welsome change from my other experiences. Having said that, it was nothing special. Don't take a trip to Honduras just for the beer.

Pours straw yellow with a nice foamy white head that stays, leaving lacing.

The smell sweet grain, slight bread and some non-descript hop balance. A faint wet cardboard is in the abrupt finish.

It's light-bodied and crisp. Not too fizzy.

Rather bland, but a mainly inoffensive brew that I could drink plenty of to quench a thirst, especially on a hot day.

I poured a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass...

The beer was a pale straw color with lots of bubbles rising and a thick, white, mattress-like head that grew into a snow cone shape above the rim of my glass and just stayed there. It smells of grassy, lemon hops and adjuncts. The taste is mostly bready malt with some lemon and hay. There some musty flavors and it's pretty macro-ish. It feels pretty light with some stinging carbonation and the finish is very dry. This beer is ok at best.

I have been told that this beer is nothing to write home about. Sitting at a grass and bamboo bar in Honduras, one is told to reach for another brand of drink. I'm sure that is good advice.

When out snorkeling or scuba diving, you'll want to stock your boat with Port Royal for the return trip. This beer blends well with the salty brine that has infiltrated your mouth and sinuses. The salt brings forth the crisp yet nutty characteristics that may be lost on an un-marinated tongue. The rejuvenating characteristics of a cold Port Royal feel great to a body that has been pickling in the briny deep all day.

After a brief trip to Honduras, I picked up all the beer of the country that I could: Barena, Royal Export and Salva Vida. This one was my favorite. Also this was described to me as "womens" beer. Laughable.

A: Standard light stuff, carbonated, pearl white head.

S: Standard slight hop with much grain character.

T: This is where it got a little different, green grapes or fermenting pear. No bitterness to speak of, but more of a white wine flavor than i was expecting.

M: Had a soapy soft quality on the palate. Possibly the use of champagne yeast? Dunno.

O: This was the best of the three I tried because it had something unique about it.
