Visited a while back after stumbling across this here on BA - I believe this is technically the closest place to me with a good selection of beer!
Small neighborhood grocery store near Candler Park (obviously) - open till about 10pm
The far aisle is full of beer, craft and macro alike. The cooler is half macros and the other half is craft sixers - the locals are well-represented, with some other better-selling stuff (Two Hearted, DFH etc) also chilled. The other side of the aisle is mostly single bottles. Selection wise, in general, is similar to Kroger in Edgewood, with a wider selection of singles. Surprisingly nice selection of Belgians too, overall, the selection would be on par with a slightly-above average beer store in Atlanta.
Quality seems to be generally good, but be careful. The single bottles included some of the old Thomas Hooker Liberator 500ml swing-top bottles with the 2006 sticker on the cap - and they had the Munich lager right next to it, likely just as old since I can't even remember the last time I saw it in Georgia! Things like that make me a bit weary, but I would imagine anything in the cooler turns over fairly well - its just some of the bottles on the dry shelf you may need to keep an eye on.
Very cool little neighborhood shop. Like I said, a bit better than Kroger, so this could be a nice go-to if a trip to Green's isn't necessary. Bonus points for a nice wine selection, local cheeses, and a small deli.

This has been my preferred beer haunt since moving to Atlanta. In New York, this outfit would be called a bodega, but the selection punches above its weight. The high gravity section isn't quite in breathing distance of Hop City and Green's, but getting mentioned in the same sentence with these two is a triumph in itself. Price points are my only quibble, albeit a small one.
If your hood is Edgewood, Kirkwood, Candler Park (natch), L5P, or Druid Hills, Candler Park Market is your huckleberry.
