This store has probably the biggest selection, in terms of shelf space, of beer of any supermarket I have ever been in. It's huge. The store itself is large and full of stuff, and the beer section is no exception.

Just when I thought the selection had ended, and I was already stoked by the amount of stuff they had, I turned the corner and so did the beer.

The selection included crafts from Pennsylvania, Colorado, Oregon, California, Texas, and others that I didn't immediately recognize; plenty of German beer like Paulaner and Franziskaner (can't recall if I saw any Erdinger); and lots of others. It was enough to make me wish I would always have a store of such quality within at least driving distance of me. An exceptional selection of great beer.

One of the two places I regularly buy beer close to where I live in South Central Austin. For those of you familiar with Whole Foods, and their beer selection, I have typically found the quality to be about the same and the variety somewhat better. The domestic selections are about equal to all other countries combined, about 100-120 ft of refrigerated shelf space (my best guess). There are also a few floor displays around the beer & wine section, typically for the specials and new additions.

For those of you looking sample via singles, this is not the place. While there have been some singles available, check the sushi case before getting to the beer & wine section, and the case near the checkout register by the cafe, the selection has been limited as of late. The staff, however, have at times let me break sixes when I've wanted to try something. Be cautioned, that this is not a standard practice. Plenty of sixes and bomber to choose from, though. Many of quality micros are here: Dogfish Head, Brooklyn Beer, Lefthand, Flying Dog, Avery, Stone, Lagunitas, Deschutes, and Full Sail, to name a few. They also carry a number of Texas micros, which is a nice touch.

The staff has always been friendly and helpful. It appears that they are encouraged to try their stock.

Prices are good when you find something on sale, about the same as most other places when you don't (maybe a bit cheaper).
