Pours a copper color with good clarity and a filmy head. Aroma of pungent hops, tropical waste, citrus, pineapple, sap, resin.

In the taste, intense bitterness with wood and pine upfront giving way to a rush of citrus and tropical fruits in the finish. Strong bitterness and the classic fatheads pale malt foundation that really lets the hops shine. Hop burps immediately ensue.

Medium bodied ale with a perfect medium carbonation. Small hop bite and flavor lingering on.

Overall, it is obvious Fat Heads know how to make great IPAs and it seems that this offering is just another day in the office at their brewery. Most places would kill to make something this good.

A solid beer for a great cause --- quickly, the problem I have with Angels for ALS is that, while it is assertive and has that astringent, "dank" sort of hop thing going on, this doesn't offer a hop blend that dances on my tongue like I was expecting. Quite bitter. I don't know the hops used in this one off-hand, but I did read that there's a good variety of them. It smells nice and tastes GOOD, but I was just waiting for a good ol' "juicy pine fruit" flavor. Would have loved to have had this side-by-side with Head Hunter... bah.

The beer is golden with a mild haze and a thin, off-white collar. Aromas include tropical fruit, resinous hops. Fabulous nose. Great flavor as well. Delicious and hop forward with notes of mango, pineapple. Fairly light in body with soft carbonation. Winner.
