Big thanks to Bill for this one. I've been wanting to try this for a while! 12oz bottle into a Heady Topper pint.
Pours a rich, 2 finger frothy white head with great retention. Beer is clear dark orange. Lacing is thick, layered, and webbed. Very pretty.
Nose is pure and very aromatic. Citrus, pine and cane sugar. Simple but delicious!
Opens citrus, tea, grapefruit. Cane sugar and tea leaf hop bitterness towards the middle. Sappy. More citrus, grapefruit and some papaya at the end. Great balance. Finishes fruity and hoppy. Same aftertaste. Pretty f-ing tasty!
Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Light, clean and crisp in the mouth and goes down dry. Dry finish with an astringent, clinging aftertaste. Perfect for the style. Can't believe this is over 7%.
I've heard a lot about this beer and it definitely doesn't disappoint. Nothing outrageous but incredible balance in the flavor and feel with a perfectly executed look and nose. Definitely wish this was a local for me.
