12-oz bottle to tulip. Bottled on 8/30/2013. Consumed 9/12/2013.
A: lovely golden orange color, less hazy than other IPAs. lots of rising carbonation. solid 2-finger (or more) frothy off white head. good coating of the glass. 1/2- to 1-finger cap lingers.
S: orange, lemon, pineapple, pine. this delivers a quintessential IPA aroma.
T: this is a piney beast, with grapefruit to boot. there is a malt backing, but this one is all about the 87 IBUs. the alcohol is more bracing at the tail end - this is not surprising given the higher ABV (7.5%).
M: well carbonated, creamy mouthfeel, sticky finish.
From the shores of Lake Erie, a solid West Coast-style IPA. This is better than when I sampled in April.
