12oz bottle to small snifter. Bottled on 12/27/13. Sampled 09FEB14.

[A] Head Hunter pours with a pretty copper orange body, mostly clear, and a nice 2 1/2 finger high ivory colored head. Retention is spectacular. Lacing is well above-average.

[S] The first pour gives of bright hop aromas covering an impressive blend of all the major bases: Tropical, citrus & pine. The second pour, after a bit of warming, begins to lose the tropical aspect, focusing on the pine, and then adding just a bit of a raw, dank scallion flavor. Just a bit.

[T] Same flavors as the aromas mentioned above. The balance between sweetness and bitterness is wonderful. It's hard to believe they're packing 87 IBU's into this.

[M] I love the mouthfeel. The body is quite substantial. Carbonation adds a modest bite. Plus, there is a slight hop oil slickness that coats the tongue which extends the mouthfeel and flavor. Then the dryness sets in. Practically perfect.

[O] Even at a month and a half, this beer is pretty damn good, although the first, colder half was quite a bit better than the second half. Wish this beer made it out to SEPA more often.
