Well, might as well take advantage of the chance to try this on-tap. I think the nose on this might actually be more interesting than the bottled version. Very salty flavor profile though. A bit too much in that it masks a lot of the other citric and piney characteristics that are trying to show. Still a very nice IPA. Loud and brash, but still bringing enough to keep it respectable.

Clear light golden yellow color with a thick soft cap.
Aroma is clean light citrus with a faint biscuit note and no sweet or malt notes.
The flavors are the tangerine and grapefruit with some flowery notes, really light and clean all around. This is how IPAs are supposed to be. Clean and almost mute backbone.
Mouthfeel is medium-light for being 7.5 abv.

This would be a great IPA to have hanging around.

A: Dark gold/orange with a medium sized off white head. Good retention and pretty decent lacing.

S: Pineapple, mango, grapefruit and a bit of pine up front. Some dank, resinous hops mixing with sweet carmel malts. Very nice.

T: Citrus and pine hops dominate. Bitter, but there is a dose of bready malt to keep it somewhat in check. It's missing all those sweet, tropical hops that I found in the nose. If only it lived up to the nose...

M: Medium to fuller body for an IPA. Average carbonation.

O: A great IPA. Awesome nose, good drinkability. If the taste lived up to the nose, this would be on Pliny and Heady level.

Poured from a 12oz bottle received in a trade from WilliamDbar.

Pours dark golden/orange color. About 1 inch of cotton white head that leaves moderate lacing down the glass.

Smell is certainly the beers high point. Powerful combo of piney citrus and dank hop aromas. Found myself frequently sticking my nose into the glass through the life of the pint. Orange peel, tangerine and pine are the dominant aromas. Probably top 5 smelling beers I've come across.

Taste falls slightly short of the nose, but that's no knock. The lighter side of the citrus aromas come through in the taste, I keyed on a tangerine flavor, very fresh citrus. Great tasting beer.

Maybe a tad too carbonated. Would love to have it on tap to see how the carb level is there. Really nothing to complain about though. Solidly put together, nice oily hop feel, finish lingers.

Overall, a really great IPA. With so at good IPAs out there, it's harder and harder to pick a "best." This one certainly belongs in the discussion. Hit a lot of notes and hit them very well.

Big thanks to maximumu13 for tracking this one down for me! Reviewed from notes. Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a CCB pint glass.

A: Pours a little hazy gold, with a 1 1/2 finger white foamy head. Not a ton of visible carbonation.

S: Big tropical fruit, citrus, and a bit of pine hops, with a hint of light malt aroma.

T: Tropical fruit, grapefruit, grassy hops, with pine and citrus rind bitterness. Some cracker malt makes a brief cameo appearance but this is nowhere close to balanced.

M: Light, crisp body, good carbonation sensation. The alcohol comes through just a bit more than expected for a relatively tame ABV.

O: Wow. This deserved the hype it gets. A very tasty hop bomb to be sure. Very recommended if you can get your hands on some.

The smell is by far the most impressive aspect of this beer: grapefruit, lemon, guava, fruit loops, pine. The first sip is monstrously pine forward with a oily resin. Playful carbonation in an amber body with nice carbonation. Very well done, albeit slightly unbalanced. This is the definition of hops.

Pours orange with a little burntness to it and a nice thick, foamy white head. A nice juicy orange aroma on top of a sweet, bready malt base. Flavor starts off with the citrus out the game, the middle is more the bready malt, and it closes with the marriage of piney hops and malt with a decently bitter finish. A nice creamy mouthfeel. Overall, Ohio with another solid IPA.
