"Bottled on 07/02/13 12:29" appears on the side of the bottle. My wife got me freshly bottled beer again :)

I poured it into a pint glass and got a finger and a half of effervescent nearly-white head. The body is a good amber color with a good amount of bubbles floating upward. The head died down after a minute or so, and while bubbles tried to cling, no lace was noticed.

This one smells sticky sweet. I get honey and blueberry.

The flavor starts off with honey and sweet grass and transitions into buttery crackers. Blueberry pervades the whole flavor, and finishes it off with the crackers.

This beer is rather light bodied, and it leaves a light coating and slightly dry finish. I would call it chug-able.

5.3% ABV confirmed. I love the funny label art. "Malt beverage brewed with honey and blueberries." 12 fl oz brown glass bottle with branded yellow pry-off cap acquired in a trade with michaellcoates and served into a Mitchells of Lancaster flared stem-tulip in me gaff in low altitude Los Feliz, Los Angeles, California. Reviewed live. Expectations are above average; I liked their Headhunter IPA.

Served chilled. Side-poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.

A: Pours a two finger head of white colour. No real cream. Not very frothy. Thickness is lacking. Above average to pretty good (~4-6 minute) retention. Uneven lacing clings to the sides of the glass as the head recedes.

Body colour is a clear copper. Nicely vibrant. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show.

Looks generally good overall. Not unique or speical, but there are no overt flaws.

Sm: Blueberries, artificial fruit syrup, honey, clove honey, clean barley, and neutral malts. Nectary as hell and sweet. Appealing, but it does illicit suspicion; I'm hoping it's not an artificial sugar bomb. Complementary light floral hopping. No yeast character or alcohol comes through. Pretty strong.

T: Heavy on the blueberry - which does feel authentic. But there is a bit of artificial fruit syrup character here; fake currants bolster the berry notes. Honey throughout. Clean barley. Neutral malts. It's a pretty simple build, but it's balanced for what it is. By no means too sweet or cloying as I feared, but definitely on the sweeter end of the sweet/bitter scale. Flavour intensity and duration are average. A pleasant, drinkable beer. Not much complexity or subtlety here, but it deliver son its premise. I do like it.

Mf: Very light on the palate. Smooth and wet. Refreshing. Good thickness and body. Fleeting. A bit overcarbonated. Complements the flavour profile nicely. Soft.

Dr: Quite drinkable, but I doubt I'd order a pitcher of this to share with friends. The sweetness would prevent me from wanting more than one in the same night, but I'd get it again if I was in the mood for a light summer beer with a little more flavour than a macro crap lager. Hides its ABV well. This would be a good beer to ease newcomers into craft/micro beer. An interesting brew from Fat Heads.

Bumble Berry's smell is unremarkable, with a scent of blueberry and not much else. But the taste is interesting, as it starts off sweet and ends tart and is never overpowering. The honey hangs out in the background and compliments the fruit flavor. The mouthfeel is somewhat thicker than your average fruit beer, but it manages to be very drinkable and goes down incredibly easy. The carbonation gives it just enough crispness. Overall, this stands out as one of the better fruit beers and is less sweet than any other blueberry beer I've had. The flavors are natural. Expect to taste much more of the blueberry than the honey.

Reviewed from notes. Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a TBBC pint glass.

A: Pours a nice gold color, nearly clear. Relatively low visible carbonation, but still forms a 1 1/2 finger white foamy head.

S: Huge blueberry, moderate sweetness, just a hint of cracker malt. The fruitiness reminds me almost of fruit salad with blueberry predominance. Nice.

T: Big letdown here. Flat tinny blueberry, decent cracker malt, some honey undertones, and slight hop bitterness in the finish. There's also some astringency here that becomes a big more noticeable as it warms.

M: Light, thin body, decent carbonation sensation, and low alcohol presence.

O: Probably would never have bought this beer, but I have been SO impressed with Head Hunter's (and I'm very excited for them to come to Florida) that I thought I'd give it a try. This was a miss for me for sure, but honestly, it's far from the worst blueberry ale I've had. Still not sure I could recommend it though.
