on tap at hawthornes - served in tulip
Bright, clear golden pour with a two-finger crop of white head resting on top, fading into a frothy wave of filmy retention, leaving patches of lacing on the glass.
Juicy berries erupt from the nose, drizzled in honey sweetness with a soft malty undertone. Blueberry and blackberry with soft acidity.
Fruity and sweet right up front with plenty of jammy blueberries and honey. Fairly sweet overall, with a milder cracker malt backbone underneath the fruit and sugar. Finishes with berries and honey.
Lighter medium body, well carbonated, smooth and sticky on the tongue. A pretty refreshing brew for the summer although a bit sweet for my tastes. If you're a fan of blueberries and honey, they pretty much hammered the point home with this one.

A- Pours a full, deep gold with a small head. Head sticks around a short time, then is down to the lacing on the top, that transitions itself to the sides of the glass very well. Body is somewhat hazy.
S- Sweet blueberries all the way through. Scent seems to be somewhat artificially sweet, but still very appetizing. There is a small amount of honey also detectable underneath all of the sweet berry smells.
T- Starts with some mild blueberry flavors that taste way more natural that in the scent. Berries transition into some honey sweetness. More of a hone lager taste from there on out with mild sweetness mixed with some light malts. Finishes clean and refreshing.
M- Light, crisp, and easy to drink. This is the definition of refreshing summer beer. Berries make it sweet and keep you coming back for a little more, while the crisp light malts quench your thirst.
Overall, this is one of the best fruit beers I've had.

Here’s hoping this is a blueberry beer that finally works; I’ve had too many bad berry brews.
A: Thin golden body with a shimmer like apple juice. A frothy white head appears quick but lasts long, lingering with a creamy retention.
S: Plump blueberry aromas stay at the top of the nose at every moment, with supporting hints of strawberry. Sweet wheat forms a soft foundation of straw and lemon tea with honey; a mild ale, it seems.
T: At first sip, it’s a blueberry palate with a crisp, trailing graininess, like blueberry cereal. The quick snap of grains is overcome by a vanilla and honey sweetness, a creamy, yogurt-like sweetness that settles lightly on the palate. A finishing touch of bright lemon and acidic berry round this off in slightly tart style.
M: Drinkable but almost overly frothy. If it’s served cold, I’m sure it would pass the hot-day-test, but the carbonation is a little too airy for me at the moment.
O: Success! A tasty blueberry ale. Unfortunately, like most blueberry beers I’ve had, this is a little thin, so I don’t think it’s any more than a light summer beer – a summer beer that’s unique enough, though, to keep me interested.
