Had on cask at the Cleveland location. The menu notes: A robust porter brewed with malted barley that was smoked over Adler wood by our brewers on site.
This beer is a dark porter, nearly black colored, with a creamy tan head from the cask. The aromas of smoked malt and roasted malt complement each other well. This was smoked by the brewers on site? How is it that they do every beer-related activity so perfectly? Fat Heads is a brewery that you can just rely on, they are so solid.
The taste is rich with roasted malts, a little chocolate, and tons of smoke. Another guy I was with said it tasted like liquid salami, I think that sort of places it correctly but it really is tastier than this description would imply. As it happens I love German rauchbiers so I was ready for exactly this flavor, and the twist that it was a porter made for an enjoyable pint.
Good creamy cask body and mouthfeel. Another hit out of the park by Fat Heads.

12oz pour at the taphouse.
This is one of the better smoked stouts I have had. Dark with a decent off white head. Slight smokey char on the nose. Chocolate, slight coffee and a bit of smoke. This works well without being overbearing. A great change of pace beer. Will definately have again.
