Same ratng at the brewpub as a cask. I changed to the cask as it is a great cask, with chocolate and balanced smoke, still significant carbonated.
Good smoked enjoyed on-tap at Pizza Plant, Transit. Black body with soapy brown head, served too cold. More drinkable though not more complex as it warmed, yielding more coffee. Pleasant BBQ smoke in nose. Above average mouthfeel, a sipper but drininkable. Drying finish.

Pours jet black with a light tan head. In the aroma, a light smoke and roasted coffee. In the taste, melow smoke and a nice coffee roast note. A smooth and medium bodied mouthfeel, with a dry hint of smoke in the aftertaste. Nice mellow smoke presence and nice small presence of coffee.

Fatheads UP in Smoke
Pours a dark brown, almost black and oily. Off white head forms and leaves a fair amount of lace. In the aroma, big time smokey, roasted malt essence and just a hint of smoke cured meat. In the flavor, a pronounced smoke flavor similar to german rauchbier. Some chocolate and vanilla are there, roasted malt chimes in, but the smoked malt flavor is predominant. Finishes with a lingering smoke note. An authentic American Rauchbier.

On tap at Fathead's. Black to brown in an imperial (or at least Andy Capp style) pint glass. thick head, cocoa brown with great lacing. Smoke aroma with some chocolate and at least some fruit (plum? Something sweet, anyway). Great toasty malt flavor with strong yet somehow subtle smoke flavor. really good. Fine mouthfeel but for some reason after just one I felt like quitting drinking for the day. Odd, that.
Overall, a good drinking experience. Most of the Fathead's beers have been above average - this is no exception.

On Cask in Cleveland Fat Heads.
A: Pours a dark black color with just a slight, very slight brown hue on the edges. Provides a thick tan foam head with ample lacing.
S: First scent is of 'campfire'. Definitely the smokey sensation of getting campfire smoke on your clothes, with some coffee and choclate scents.
T: On the front end the smokey wood hits the palate, coating it. There is a slight taste of hops in the middle, followed up with more smoke, chocolate, roasted coffee on the back end. Very complex but comes together well.
M: Leaves a creamy smokey taste on the palate. not too bitter.
D: I enjoyed this beer and could have 2-3 in a sitting, especially on a cool night by the fire.
