On tap at the Cleveland brewpub. Not bad,but also not that drinkable, 18 ibu. Lacey. Average mouthfeel, though expect more from the style. Carbonation and temperature is correct. Easy drinker for some, not hat interesting forme. Aroma a bit strange for style.

This poured out as a bright yellow color with a haziness to it and a white head on top. The smell of the beer had the traditional clove and banana like aromas to it. The taste of the beer was decent, it was a little lighter in flavor than I expected though. The mouthfeel was a bit on the watery side with a slightly aggressive amount of carbonation to it. Overall it's a decent Hefe, nothing too crazy going on here.

First beer of the night, while eating dinner with my family. I had this clouded banana smoothie golden colored beer sitting in a tall hefe 0.5 liter glass, with a brilliant white head creamy and cloudy appearance looked delicious. Nice introduction into their lineup, fine even intricate lacing left behind, the beer has a great head retention the wheat definitely provides some protein along with all of the yeast sediment. Aroma has bubblegum, clove, and highlights the banana esters in this one, super good fruit earth light herbal quality with some powdered yeast notes. Flavor, not overly sweet balanced mix of bubblegum, citrus sharp wheat notes, clove, and banana with the yeast working it's magic giving it a ton of flavor yet keeping it very drinkable. First off you have to be able to enjoy a good hefeweizen, by the way this is a great version of it. Dead on German style, I can't tell you many better American ones out there. Mouthfeel is light to medium, effervescent sturdy carbonation flows tight, small bubbles cascade from the bottom of the glass. Overall, this beer is hard to describe, you just want to drink it, you don't want to waste time analyzing it. Delicious wheat beer, if you don't like them quit reviewing them.

Poured ontap into a 20 oz weizen glass. Pours a cloudy, unfiltered straw. Aroma of bavarian yeast lending banana notes. In the flavor, clean hefeweizen flavors, wheaty, muted banana, clove and a lemony hop presence. Medium bodied feel, alittle light. Overall, a decent hefeweizen, true to the style, rather refreshing.

Had on tap at Fat Head's. Review from notes.
A: Pours a hazy amber color with a nice white/foamy head on top with great retention and lacing.
S: Lots of banana and clove, with hints of bubblegum and some grassy hops.
T: The spices and bubblegum are more prominent on the flavor profile mixed in with more banana. There is a bit of citrus rind as well and some clove and pepper.
M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation, crisp and refreshing.
O: A solid hefe, easy drinking with the flavors I look for in the style.

Pours a hazy yellow to orange-ish color with an off white head. In the aroma, a sweet to dry banana. In the taste, well, the best I can say that it tastes like is banana RUNTS. Just like the candy. A small bite and medium bodied mouthfeel, and a dry banana and hint of clove in the aftertaste. A bit sweet for me, but nice dry banana and spice.

A-pours an extremely cloudy dark amber color with tons of dense creamy white head.
S-the nose is huge! tons of wheat, notes of earthy flowers, notes of banana and bubblegum, fair amount of clove, an abudance of dry grass and lemon in the back.
T-the bubblegum is right up front, hints of phenol in the taste, lots of wheat, banana and citrusy lemon, light spice to it with corriander and pepper, not nearly as earthy or grassy but there is a hint of these flavors in the back with a light hop bitterness.
M-it has a medium body and is quite chewy, well carbonated with a crisp finish and a little grainy on the palate. pretty spot on.
D-well balanced hefe with good flavors and a nice complexity to it. this is tasty and refreshing as the spice is light and the wheat flavors are big but both are there working together.

Super cloudy, super mucky. Dark muddy orange. Retaining a thin cap well. 3.5
Bubble gum, desserty banana, tutti frutti, and light lemon and orange. Ridiculously fruity and exquisite. Only the faintest hint of clove. 4.5
More clove-y in the taste. Lots of bubble gum and assorted citrus. Big banana element blends with smacking malty wheat. Smooth flavors, no huskiness. Ripe and very expressive. Teeny trace of booze in the finish, where the clove spice crescendos. Low carbonation, but a luxurious wide body. Milky smooth. 4.0, 4.0
Long time coming before trying this. A beer I'd buy a keg of for the house. 4.5

A- Pours a super hazy amberish orange color with a nice foamy white head. Head has really good retention and leaves some very nice lacing.
S- This is exactly how I like my Hefes. Smacked in the face with a ton of banana, clove and bubblegum. I touch of wheat and a bit of yeast.
T- Bananas, cloves, and bubblegum all over the place. Nothing else really needs to be said. This is awesome.
M- Lighter side in body and carbonation was good.
O- Really really impressed with this one. I gotta give a shout out to Seth for telling me to get this one. I probably would of over looked this one for sure, but instead made this one my second brew of our trip.

On tap at Fat Heads. I can't believe I never ordered one of these before - if you're doing research to see what to get on your trip to Fat Heads, make this one of your must orders!
The beer arrived in a half liter imperial pint glass. It's stunning in appearance - great orange-tinged, hazy bright yellow with nice, no, make that great head retention and lace. Just short of perfection.
Before I put my nose close to the beer I can already sense the yeasty esters are going to be intense and pleasant. Upon closer inspection, I get tons of banana and clove. Holy smokes, this is fantastic smelling, one of the better American takes on the style I've ever experienced. Just a touch of wheat graininess and herbal hops as well, but the yeast is clearly the star of the show.
Oh. My. This is perhaps one of the best, freshest American hefeweizens I've ever had. It's done in the traditional style for the most part but really shines with a freshness you can only get from a domestic brewery. Bannana, clove, bubblegum, and a nice sweet finish. Reminds me of Aventinus' bubblegum mixed with Weinhenstephaner's banana, citrus, and bread. Wow. I have a new go-to when I'm at Fat Heads! This is just a hair short of perfection in the taste department. Just a touch more flavor and we'd have a 5!
The mouthfeel makes the taste even better. Creamy low carbonation gives the beer a lighter and refreshing feel that it's medium body couldn't pull off on its own. A clean finish with lingering sweetness makes it the complete package. This is a really, really nice beer. I'm stunned at how many times I've passed this over. Don't miss out, give it a shot!
