Grabbed a growler of this while picking up a couple 4-packs of JuJu. Both are great. Trying to decide which one is better.
A- A fairly aggressive pour into a tulip yields about two fingers of off-white head. Fades after a minute or so leaving sticky lacing on the glass. Film on top is constant. Clean, translucent hue of pale gold. Love the look of this beer.
S- Well, scratch my back with a hacksaw... Absolutely monstrous pine and floral notes. Smells like I'm walking through a pine forest. This is awesome. I'm also getting lemon and orange zest, grapefruit, and just enough sweetness from the malt, though the floral/pine aromas dominate. What a bouquet. I want my girlfriend to shower in this stuff. Then I'd be that creepy guy who's always closing his eyes and sniffing.
T- Yup... It's been named IBUsive for a reason. Addictively bitter. Fat Head's loved making dry IPAs and this is no exception. So much pine and resin. Tropical fruits definitely make their presence known with orange, grapefruit, and faint mango. But the bitterness dominates, and it is wonderful. I can't get enough. This drinks way too easily...
M- I think they nailed the mouthfeel. Mid-light carbonation with a medium mouthfeel. Really crisp, with just enough of the oily resin from the hops. Really, really well done. Faint warming sensation from the 8% ABV. Love it.
O- It's been decided... I like this one more than JuJu, and JuJu is a great beer. This one simply has better balance and is a lot cleaner on the flavor and aroma. This actually might be the best IPA I've ever had... And I've had some damn good IPAs. Getting more Heady in a couple days, so we'll see. Cheers!

Catching up on reviews from September. This was freshly released at the Pitt location, served on tap in a snifter. The brew appears a polished clear golden orange with a white cap. Some stringy lace sticks to the glass.
The smell is as tropical as any non-fruited brew I have ever smelled. Floral, resinous with grapefruit juice and some herbs. An absolute fantastic set of aromatics to this.
The taste is dank yet rindy like orange, mandarin and grapefruit juice. Rindy and zesty with pithy bitterness. So much hop flavoring without getting excessively bitter. There is a faint dry malt backing.
This is a medium bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. This is a downright crushable, amazing dipa. Even better than the freshest headhunter. This beer absolutely spoiled me, after drinking it, I didnt want anything else, just more IBUsive. I really hope to come across this again, would love to have more.

On draft at Three Floyds, served in a tulip.
A: orange with thick white head, slight haziness
S: tangerine and a hint of mango
T: tangerine, distinctively bitter but not overly so
M: dry IPA with fine carbonation
O: it is like head hunter but with mosaic hops, though less of a bitter edge than head hunter. Great beer.
I wanted to get this at Fat Heads in Pittsburgh last month, and they ran out earlier the same day I was there. Drove an hour and a half to FFF when I saw it on their tap list, waited outside for an hour to get a table, and the beer was definitely worth it. Drinking a second one now.
