Pours jet black with a small light tan head. In the aroma, a small roast and chocolate. In the taste, lots of chocolate up front, with a small spice underneath. A small spice like bite and a medium to lighter bodied mouthfeel, with and dry spice of cinnamon and all spice in the aftertaste. Quite nice, just the wrong time of year for me.

A dark ruby black pour. It's only got some light shades when held to a light. The head is two fingers of light brown creamy foam. You can see how creamy the beer is just from the pour. The head dissipates leisurely leaving a creamy lace.

All malt with a splash of vanilla. Caramel and chocolate come forward as the beer warms. Nothing in the way of hops presents itself.

Very malty and heavy, but not overbearing, on the chocolate, bittersweet variety. Still no hop presence, but the chocolate does it's part for balance. Vanilla is a bit player.

Extreme creaminess. Sweet early, the bitter. Heavy body. Wet sloppy finish. No carbonation anywhere.

It's a really nice stout. Fairly sweet for a stout, but never over the top or cloying. The bittersweet chocolate provides both the sweet and the bitter, for a surprising, easy to drink beer.

12oz poured into snifter.

A: Dark brown/black with one finger of soda-tan head, which dissipated quickly. Moderately viscous as it swirls in the glass.

S: Vanilla, cocoa, chocolate & roasted malts make up most of the smell. Sweet and inviting, a great wintertime aroma.

T: Fairly mild. Vanilla and cocoa are the biggest flavors once again; I'm not getting the dark chocolate that was advertised, but still digging it somewhat. The combination of sweetness and creaminess makes it surprising that this isn't a milk stout. Just a little bitter, and roasty, on the finish.

M: Medium-bodied and super carbonated; I don't know that I've had a stout so bubbly before. It's interesting, and works well with the light flavors, but it might be just a bit more foamy than would be ideal.

O: Pretty unique stout; I don't love it, but I'm glad I had the chance to try it. Worth picking up if you want a stout without all the body/weight of an imperial, and it could easily blend into almost a lineup highlighting various styles from beer to beer without being overbearing.

The head is light mocha color over a deep, rich brown body. Leaves a froth and a good ring on the top, and lacing is good.

Chocolate, vanilla and caramel, with vanilla being the strongest aroma.

Taste is a vague chocolate and vanilla.

I have to knock the mouthfeel. It isn't creamy enough. This beer has a medium body, but no stick, no real creaminess. It might be better with nitro...

This is a tale I two beers. As is out o the bottle, it is over carbonated for my taste, and what I expect with the style. This carbonation distracts me too much and I cannot really appreciate the chocolate and the dark roasted malt. So, I swish it around in my glass for a while and the beer improves dramatically. I think they have a good base recipe on this one, and once they get the carbonation right they will have something here.
