look: 3.5 | smell: 3 | taste: 3 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3

A: Pours very dark with an enormous tan, uneven head. Dissipation is medium fast and leaves decent lacings.

S: Roasted sweet malt, dark dried fruits. Cherries and spices.

T: Heavily roasted sweet malt. Coffee and faint chocolate. Only faint bitter hops.

M: Long dry bitter aftertaste. Body is medium and carbonation is moderate.

D: A bit to little of everything. I guess it would have benefitted from more malt and more hops.

look: 4 | smell: 1.5 | taste: 3 | feel: 3 | overall: 2.5

A: Deep brown, almost black liquid. Light brown creamy head.

S: Some roasted and chocolate notes, and I mean NOTES. You only recognize the aroma if you really want to. Otherwise, you smell nothing.

T: Deep roasted and smoked malt, watery as an English porter should be. Some figs can noted with the bitterness when swallowed. Aftertaste is bitter and roasted.

Overall: Since this one contains at least 6 malts (don't remember) you should at least get a better aroma in my opinion. Otherwise, decent.

The beer is dark brown, almost black, the head is tan, settles rather quickly, in a soap-bubble fashion that leaves rather little lacing.

The smell is full of roasted burned tones, oats, bread, coffee beans. Some sweetness, like ripe dried fruits.

Surprisingly little sweetness, dry roasted tones of bread, chocolate, nuts and coffee. A distinct sharp sourness.

Low carbonation, a bit watery but a very dry long finish.

Not 100% convinced, a bit uneven.

The gigantic pale brown airy head sinks slowly, leaving some lacing. The clear liquid is dark brown, almost black.

The intense smell got notes of brown sugar, roasted (almost burned) malt. Some alcohol and a sour-yeasty hint. IT is a little sharp.

The taste is fresh with a distinct style-correct sourness. Notes of nuts, roasted malt, brown sugar, hints of coffee and dark cocolate. Medium body. Some yeast in the aftertaste, heavily roasted notes (a touch of rubber?), liquorice as well as a fragile slowly growing bitterness. Some alcohol and a dry hoppy note in the finish.

The carbonation is medium strong; the soft bubbles are medium sized. The liquid is mid-smooth.

I don't know... I miss something in this one. A bit more body? Somewhat more aromatic hops? Still, a solid porter.
