Served on-tap at the Pittsburgh restaurant.

A: The dunkel lager is a dark caramel and chocolate color, bright enough to be brightened when lights shines through but generally opaque. A finger of head coats the top of the glass but the 0.5L mark was hit.

S: The nose is caramel sweet with a firm bready grain base. Not much hop-wise but a nice chewy aroma.

T: The first sip is loaded with sweet malts, mainly caramel with a nice toasted flavor underlying the sweetness. Again, hops aren't a major factor but they aren't missed. A nice chewy ale to sip on.

M: The mouthfeel is clean with a crisp taste. I enjoyed quaffing this one.

D: A solid session lager that never felt heavy as I drank it.

A - A nice deep brown in color. Lighter than expected with a nice frothy head. They love the head here!

S - Slight roasted character, mild grain and hops with a touch of bread.

T - The roast-ness of this beer almost comes off smokey much more so even touching into a mild coffee. The bready sweetness rounds the bitter roast giving the palate a clean finish.

M - A very sweet and drinkable dunkel. Not too bitter!

D - Another great offering from Hofbräu! I only rate the drinkability a four since I would order the hefe hands down first before touching waters with this beer. Doesn't mean it's bad it's just not my first choice. Very succession-able though!

Pours a clean copper to orange-ish color with a light tan head. In the aroma, like a mixture of a lager and caramel. In the taste, caramel, earthy, and a small fruitiness. A smooth and medium to light mouthfeel, with a clean fruit and caramel stickiness in the aftertaste. OK, nice flavor but still quite lager ish.

Pours a dark brown color. Lots of off white head and plenty of lace. Aroma of roasted malt and a bit of chocolate. In the taste, roasted malt and some cocoa. Light herbal hopping, even bitterness with a slightly roasted finish. Medium bodied, but full and smooth. Overall this is a great brew.

A-Deep, dark caramel copper that when held up to strng light is actually transparent. A thin off-white head holds on fairly strong and leaves decent lace.

S-Light caramel malt sweetness with a touch of biscuit.

T-Sweet malts, mainly of caramel with a touch of toasted biscuit underneath. Nothing extravagant but solid and slightly chewy.

M-Medium bodied with a crisp, clean finish.

D-Solid and well built with a touch of toast and caramel sweetness with is a well done dunkel. The kind of dark beer to give to someone who states, "I dont like dark beer".

a- dark brown, clear, with reddish tints

s- nothing spectacular hear, slightly sweet and malty, maybe a little bready

t- delicious maltiness. not much hoppage, but a crisp finish. almost a burnt flavor to it, but not overly smoky

m- medium bodied, easy to drink fast

d- easy to drink more than a few of these. Mellow taste that really is enjoyable, beer after beer after sweet beer
