After standing at the Belgian style shelf at Discount Drinks on 12 mile and halsted, I decided to buy this since it was the last one on the shelf. Served it in a tulip.
A: Pours a cloudy, golden honey color with a 1/4 inch bubbly off white head with medium amounts of lacing. There is particles and debris floating in the brew.
S: Very aromatic, reminds me of champagne or white wine, smells of Belgian yeast, malts, citrus, spices, peaches, white grapes, herbs.
T: Tastes incredible, very smooth, flavorful, tastes of wheat, Belgian yeast, pears, grapes, sugar, spices, herbs. Very well balanced, very smooth, nice kick from the alcohol as well.
M: Full bodied beer, with medium carbonation, very thick and flavorful, well balanced as well. Goes down smooth with a champagne-white wine effervescence.
O: Overall, as with other beers I've had from Affligem, it's stupendous. It's quite expensive but whenever I feel like treating myself (which is quite often) this brew will be on my menu. Recommended by me.
