Poured from 750mL bottle into a tulip.
Appearance: three fingers of foamy white head despite a gentile pour. Body is pale golden-yellow with just a little haze. A solid tripel appearance.
Smell: sweet malt with some basic pear and apple character. Unfortunately, there is a fair bit of skunkiness here. This eventually begins to dissipate after awhile, but this tripel seems to hold onto it a bit longer than some other skunkified beers I've had.
Taste: standard pear and a bit of apple. There's also something almost citrusy and a bit acidic of which I'm not a huge fan. There are some nice hops here, but nothing to write home about. OK, not fantastic.
Mouthfeel: medium body with massive creamy carbonation. It's a bit sticky, but I kind of like that too. This has got the classic tripel feel I love.
Drinkability: it's good, but some of the flavors just don't work for me. Frankly, I won't likely seek this out again. Of course, I will finish this bottle, however.
