Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Golden colour, moderate white head. Typical aroma and flavour of Belgian blonde ale, white kandij sugar and mild spices. Okay.

The Affligem is a solid Belgian blonde. It poured a golden clear with white head that left a nice lace. The scent carried clove like spice mixed with sweet Belgian malt. The taste had good clove base with caramel like sweetness. There seemed a touch of anise and it finished dry. The Mouthfeel was fuller in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it's a very nice beer.

From cervezasespeciales. After dinner. In La Trappe chalice. More herbal, bitter, dry and less sugary than the typical belgian beer, but nice anyway. Light body.

To start with, this beer is still available in the beershops all around Belgium. I boght this at the Bierparadijs in Meer, Belgium. Best before september 2013.
Poured in my Struise glass the fluis is nice yellow golden with a thick very big bubbly four finger head. Good lacing in the glass too.
Smell of banana, not my favourite fruit. The taste is much better. Affligem is well known for its soft and round taste. Good beer overall.

Bottle Inspection: Notes a date of 25.10.07 (sampled 03.02.07) and 6.8% abv.
Aroma: Yeasty with a light green apple (acetaldehyde) and a light white pepper note.
Appearance: Frothy off white head that lasted and gave a little bit of spotty lace.
Flavor: Light fruitiness, light pepper, just like the aroma. Very mild and clean.
Mouthfeel: Firm carbonation, light body.
Overall Impression: A very easy drinking Belgian. A lawnmower except for the well hidden alcohol. The flavor was light and airy. Enjoyable.
Many thanks to Tim Bierschenker Polk for the rare bottle!
