Good head which settles to a nice layer of active foam. Honey haze with traces of carbonation bubbling up. Smells of fruity yeast, little spicy. Tastes of honey lemony hops and alcohol.

look- pours a beige like color with a big foam head and sticky lace that shows excellent retention.
smell- fruity, pear like, chalky and yeast like, and honey.
taste-chalky and yeasty, pale malts, peppery, moderate hops, honey and alcohol. The finish is dry. Very flavorful.
feel- my favorite attribute of this beer. Light and drinkable but with complexity in the mouthfeel. Very refreshing. The mouthfeel had a sharpness and crispness that had a pleasant bite to it.
This was a pleasant surprise. I will definitely get more of.

Pours a hazy, golden color. 5/4 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of Euro yeast, sweet malt, pale malt, adjunct, hint of alcohol, hops. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is also a distinct dryness. Fits the style of a Belgian Pale Ale. Tastes of sweet malt, pale malt, hops, slight alcohol, slight Euro yeast, hint of floral notes, and a hint of adjunct. Overall, a decent BPA, but the slight adjunct hurts.

A - Pours a semi-hazy golden blonde color with a huge, rocky, billowing creamy head - lots of lacing.

S - Honey malt, Belgian spice, mildly yeasty.

T - Honey, bread, some pepper and coriander spice, nice lingering mild earthy bitterness to round out the sweetness of the malt. Coats the mouth with a nice balance between malt and spice.

M - Very dry finish, medium body, moderate carbonation mellows quickly for a smooth finish.

O - Definitely worth trying and better than its current rating.

Strong, clean and quite sweet. Honey and butterscotch overtones with a silky mouth-feel. You know this is pretty high in alcohol but you just want to drink it as it is so moreish. One to savour if you can.

Poured a 330ml bottle into a 350ml beer glass.

Great looking beer - big, fluffy, tight head which hung around and left plenty of lacing. Nice dark golden yellow.

Big malty nose with some yeasty spice - very pleasant.

Palate has some complexity with yeast spice and some bready notes coming though with some hoppy bitterness in the finish. Very nice flavours. Well-rounded.

Good mouth-feel, light carbonation.

Overall a beautifully balanced beer. Highly drinkable, sessionable.

Highly recommended.

L- Over carbonated. Yellow body and bubbly white head.
S- Fresh malt.
T- Fresh malt with spices and herbs.
F- Bubbly but smooth.
O- Nice refreshing beer but a bit to fizzy for my taste.

pale hay yellow colour and a bit cloudy. Lots of carbonation - one inch of head with large bubbles that fades right away down to a thin covering.

Nice yeasty funk on the nose. light fruits, white grapes, very light spices.

Tart fruits and yeast, light baking spices, coriander, mild barny earthy funk. sweet but also a bit sour. golden delicious apple. maybe a bit of herbs on the finish, which is dry i believe.

Highly carbonated with not a tonne of body.

Overall not bad. Certainly a style of beer I really like, but there are some very good versions out there that you might want to spend your time on before this. For the style its light on the alcohol and very drinkable. More subdued flavours and light body make it a good entry to a blonde or saison, though you will likely move on to bigger and bolder things.

300mL bottle, best before 30/07/15. Bottle code A42110428. Served in a Tulip glass.

Appearance: A slow pour to keep the sediment behind yielded a gold/amber beer with a bit of a haze that gave the beer a bit of a glow. Plenty of fine small bubbles coming up through the beer when held up to the light. Rocky 1/4" off-white foam which slowly died back to a thin foam across the top. Some small strands of lacing noted.

Smell: Yeasty with a hint of herbal/floral hops.

Taste: Up front candi sugar and Belgian style ester sweetness, and then a leafy bitterness at the finish with some noble hop character.

Mouthfeel: Brisk carbonation that scrubs the palate clean. Not fizzy, but definitely high carbonation.

Overall / Drinkability: A nice sipping Belgian pale ale that hits the aspects of the style quite well. Not sure I'd want another one in an evening, but I think I would try this again. To my surprise 300mL is enough for one sitting. I also wonder if it might go better with food. Being close to the best before date, I wonder if the beer is better when much fresher. Regardless of my doubts above, I still enjoyed it - I just don't find it a great Belgian pale ale, just a good one.

Poured from bottle to glass. Appearance is a beautiful golden blond color. Nice head with average retention. Smell is a little lackluster but reminiscent of any Belgian. Taste was smooth, some grain and light fruit flavor. Mouthfeel was average. Overall, pretty good. Enjoyable.

Nice blond colour, but no foam at all. Smell and taste are herby, but slightly monotone. Subtle bitter aftertaste. Decent blond, but wouldn't order another.

Poured into a snifter. Pours slightly cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Smells of Belgian yeast and sweet grain. Tastes of earthy hops, grassy grains, and slight citrus. Beer is lightly carbonated and light bodied, very drinkable. Overall, a very good beer.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a globe glass.

L - Dark golden color. Not quite crystal clear. Head piles high with mousy white bubbles. Thick, sticky lacing and head are both persistent to the end of the glass.

S - Aromas are a balanced interplay between grassy hops, crisp pilsner malt, sugar notes and yeast character. Fruity note from the yeast has a bit of green apple. This blends with the cotton candy sugar aroma to give a sweet impression. All aromas are clean and restrained.

T - Not much malt flavor, just a bit of "white bread". Grassy hops in the mid-palate, followed by a crisp, spice and lemon finish.

F - Somewhat thin body. Medium hops bitterness. Low alcohol presence. Prickly, mouth-filling carbonation.

O - A very well-made beer. It lacks a bit of flavor complexity for me, especially in malt presence.

Lovely mouthfeel, great taste. Taste a lot nicer than the aroma would suggest. At first doesn't seem that inviting. Lots of estery yeasty flavour bananas, soft stone fruit bit of alcohol warmth that is well hidden but definitely there. Nice that this is fairly easy to get hold of in London pubs with pretty much nothing good on offer, seems to have replaced Leffe in a lot of places.

A: slight haze; medium gold in color; 1 finger moussy white head that receded to a wispy cap; OK lacing;

S: light malt; a little lemon; a lot going on, but it's all subtle;

T; smooth; pils malt sweetness and lemon up front; some spicy hops at mid-palate; moderate bitterness from mid-palate to the finish;

M: light to medium bodied; highly carbonated - very tingly; moderately dry finish;

O: very enjoyable; didn't have the complexity in the flavor that it had in the nose;

I have had this in the 750 ml and 33 cl bottles and on tap. Light fruit and yeast aromas with some light bread dominate the nose. It pours hazy gold under a 3” off-white moussey head that produces thick lace. The palate attacks with traces of apricot, pineapple, orange and fresh white bread. The yeast flavors are rich and well developed with the balance towards the yeast. It is creamy and very effervescent and refreshing with a medium body.

Purchased at the LCBO for just over $3.00 for a 330ml bottle. Served at 4deg C in a tulip glass. Aged for 1yr in my cellar.

A- Opens well and pours a nice white head that is gone in 2mins but leaves a nice film. Dark gold color and translucent.

S- Love the bubble gum hoppy nature of this beer. Super good malt. Very enjoyable

T- Pretty good hops and malt. Not a bomb but strong flavored.

M- Dry yet creamy. A great European brew

O- Enjoyable. Will buy again and sit on it for a while.

Food Pairing

This wonderful little brew went very well with...... Goat curry roti. This beer cut right through the heat and heavy curry flavor.

Colour is between yellow and amber, with a foamy white head. Fruit and herbs are dominant in the aroma, while in the taste these are combined with notions of malt and unripe banana. Nice bittersweet aftertaste, but if you drink it too cold, the aftertaste is ruined.

From bottle at Rattle n Hum, NYC. Right off the ice this may be a bit too cold for optimum. Good look but everything else seems a bit washed out. As it warmed the taste bittered out. Not my idea of a Belgian blond...but I'm not Belgian.

Poured from a 10.1 oz bottle into a snifter.

Appearance: Pours a crystal clear shade of goldenrod with a big voluminous head comprised of meringue like foam. A constant stream of bubbles fight to keep it afloat in great numbers. The head is comprised of large and small bubbles and as it deflates it leaves a jaunty soap sudsy mountain range all across its surface. Lace clings in big thick sheets leaving dotted holes like a spider web all around the circumference of the glass. Looks great.

Aroma: Strong scent of banana is most prominent , followed by a slight herbal grassiness with some touches of lemon and citrus. Hint of alcohol. A little musty. Some soda cracker in there as well. Fairly complex but to be expected for a classic belgian.

Taste: Initial taste is sweet and doughy, banana is still apparent too which makes it taste kind of like under-baked banana bread. Almost entirely void of bitter although there is a hint of astringency that tastes grainy. After more sips the sweetness melds into the overall flavor of the beer and becomes very cohesive. Though still entirely malt forward.

Mouthfeel: The carbonation is great, viscosity is excellent as well I feel the mouthfeel and the nose are really stars of this show. Every sip refreshes as you drink it and the tingle lasts several seconds after the swallow. When held on your tongue the beer has a touch of dryness to it but its quickly whisked away by the vibrant carbonation.

Overall: An excellent belgian pale. Extremely drinkable and complex enough to be interesting but not overbearing. Not a style I normally seek out but if you are this is a great affordable widely available example if you are looking for one.

Vibrant, elegant and deliciously complex brew, offering banana, roses and a touch of spices supported by scrappy acidity, assertive carbonation and a sweetish finish that fades quickly.
