A - Deep copper with lighter oranges and ambers at edges. Thick off-white head both builds and disappears rather quickly, but does leave a small foamy island. Some wispy, patchy lacing is left behind.

S - Comes across as your average IPA. Nothing disrespectful meant by that. Just straight piney and floral hops. Seems to be a decent maltiness to balance it out.

T/M - It is in fact fairly well balanced. A subtle malt base makes itself known before the hops take over. Again, piney and floral without being overpowering. Leaves a lingering citrus rind aftertaste. Medium-bodied with good amount of carbonation.

O - No solid complaints, just nothing that stands apart. Always find Dwayne's more creative offerings a little more interesting.

Poured into a 33cl tulip. Pours with a nice fine head that hangs around for a while. Color is a cloudy golden amber. Leaves a little lace that lingers in odd shapes here and there as the glass empties.

The aroma is a bit sour with citris and caramel notes. This one hits the palate sweet, then sour, and finishes with a pleasant bitter bite.

This is a pleasant American IPA, but not a great one. Very drinkable, and one hop fans should try at least once. It's often part of my staple of IPA's, and one worth having in your fridge.

My kids got this for me for Father's day because they liked the elephant on the label.

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass.

Cloudy, amber color with a nice white thick head that dissipated fairly quickly. Strong bitter taste but not overpowering. Good beer.

Pours a nice amber color with a little off white foamy head. Aroma is distinct with hops and maltiness about equally apparent. Tastes of a lot more malt than I would expect. Lacks some of the hoppiness I would hope for from an IPA. Mouthfeel is very goo and finishes smooth.

Pours a hazy, copper color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Decent retention and decent lacing. Smells of hops, hint of sweet malt, and licorice?. Fits the style of an American IPA. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of hops, sweet malt, caramel malt, and licorice. Overall, the licorice is an unpleasant part of this beer. I'm not sure if this is an intended part of the beer or not, but it did not lend itself well.

Aroma is top notch. Toffy with piney/chocolatey notes. Cloudy with orange hues. Very balanced with caramel lingering notes. The only offsetting factor is the hazy color. Head is fine, almond and lacy. One of the most balanced malt to hop ratio I've seen in an IPA. Very nice!

12oz bottle. Only bought a six pack from Sister's Mexican restaurant tamaqua pa.

Pretty average IPA. Decent hop flavor but I'm not finding the floral hops. More of a burnt hop flavor. Unless this was an old brew, I didn't see brew or expire date. Fair amount of malt flavor also.
Not a bad IPA but not one I would go out of my way to purchase again.

Pours hazy amber orange with off white head that has excellent retention and side lace.
Floral citrus hops abound. Big estery alcohol within the semi pungent hop aroma, not alot of malt noted.

Taste & Mouthfeel: Full bodied. Hop bitterness is there, pungent and piney with a dry finish. Lots of warming alcoholic esters, hints of diacetyl. Citric tones influence the palate. Finish has lots of hop flavour and is both extremly dry and bitter.

Notes: A typical American brewed IPA. Good drinking if you like lots of hops, IMO a bit off balance.

C. A little clear, very small amount of cloudiness
H. Amber
N. Very strong hoppiness, and a hint of Lodge Fries

I don't like to compare beers but this really does sorta taste like Lost Coast Indica on initial taste and then it mellows out and has a bit of a burnt taste to it...wait for it...then a minute later a strong bitterness hangs around...IMPRESSIVE. As most of you know I love myself some hops and this beer is about as much of a West Coast IPA as you can get. The head is an off white and quite thick....Sexy Head!!! The nose of this beer is huge. Dos put it in front of me and I could smell it from the tasting table. I would easily drink this one again...GREAT JOB FCB!

Took a trip down to Colorado Springs last week, mainly to visit this brewery. Had this one on tap in the tasting room. Poured a medium amber color with a decent white head. Aromas of chai tea, earthy hops (very outdoor-sy smelling). Medium bodied, with flavors of caramel and earthy hops with a long, bitter finish.

This brew comes in a brown bottle with an impressive graphic label that is mostly blue with a black elephant set against the rocky mountains.

Serving Type: Bottle to a US Tumbler (pour man's pint).

Appearance: True crystal clear amber appearance with about a 2-inch head that hung around through half of the tasting.

Smell: Light citrus, strong floral with a hint of toffee. Very pleasing.

Taste: Light and crisp, clean initial taste with hints of gardenia and a somewhat soapy taste. Mildly bitter aftertaste. A bit smoky as the beer warms to room temp.

Mouthfeel: Slightly tingly from carbonation, mildly bitter with a nice finish in the back of the throat.

Drinkability: Would do fine for a changeup, but not unique enough to be a staple.

Appearance - Copper like a new penny. Nice white head raises to two fingers then settles into a nice white ring on the glass leaving great lacing through out.

Smell - Floral. Citrus and some grains.

Taste - Nice hop bite without being too big. Very good thirst quencing or palate cleansing IPA. Strong hop presence but not boisterous or over the top.

Mouthfeel - Solid. Good carbonation and nice full bodied feel.

Overall - I found this to be a totally drinkable IPA. It's not going to get the "hop heads" all revved up but it's a great beer for a steak or a pizza.

Hazy caramel brown color with garnet hight lights. This is an IPA!!!??? It looks like an unfiltered nut brown ale. Maybe it's the Rocky Mountain style. Minimal creamy off white head, no carbonation bubbles but the head did accumulate when the beer was swirled in the glass. Served at the appropriate temperature, which is a huge plus. Flowery citrus hop aroma with equally as bold malt character.

Huge malt character in the taste that is only shown up by the sweet and citrusy hops. The malt boarders a nut brown ale and a Red ale. Really malty but also bold citrusy grapefruitiness of the Amarillo hops (?) balances it out.

Ultra complex, extremely balanced. The flavors keep coming out: caramel, toffee, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, citrus, almost flowery. Some hop bitterness in the end but really pleasant.

I can't say it enough, really malty and really hoppy leaning toward the citrusy side with grapefruit and some pine in there too.

Now the IPA comes out. If you closed your eyes, it would taste like a golden amber IPA. Really nice.

Creamy, creamy, smooth mouthfeel when turbulated in the mouth.

This is a great IPA, Rocky Mountain Style!
