Amazing selection! Best in the triad, hands down. Of course you can find rare and very expensive beers, but I can always find something in my price range and haven't had anything but fresh beers and friendly service. Most def worth checking out!

(also worth a look is a laundrymat across the street, pool tales with a bar in the back)

This is basically a quaint small town grocery store with a killer beer section. I visited on a busy Saturday afternoon in Dec 2014. There were lots of people loading up carts with huge purchases of NC beers. The NC beer selection was the best of the 5 BA-top-rated stores I visited in the Triangle area that week. For example, they had a stack of Hop Drop n Roll cases 5 feet high--beer that was canned the day before I visited!! Amazing! Also, a really nice selection of Wicked Weed offerings. And many others I hadn't seen at other stores during my week in the Triangle area. The down side: this is a grocery store, not a beer store, which meant there was no one in the store on a Saturday afternoon who could give any advice about the beer offerings, except for other customers. I shudder to think about the business they could have been doing if they'd have had a smart beer person helping the customers. However, put that aside, do your own homework before you go, and definitely make Bestway a stop if you are anywhere close to the area.

This place has a monster craft beer selection. Just about anything brewed in the state of NC is available here, from flagships to seasonals. Further down the cooler, you get all the craft offerings from around the country, and finally a ton of imports. There is a growler station offering rotating fills of 16oz, 32oz, and 64oz jugs. There is quite a selection of glassware, as well as some interesting t-shirts and other swag from time to time. They do quite a few tastings, and have special releases of rare beers when they have them. This is a full grocery store, so there is plenty of food available. Also, there is a decent wine selection. Worth a stop if you are in the Triad.

Horrible customer service. These guys have always been completely rude to their customers and are WAY over priced. But today took the cake. They were the only bottle shop to receive Bourbon County Coffee and REFUSED to sell it to the people waiting. Never again will I spend a dime with them.

Selection is OUTSTANDING with tons of great beer to choose from, but they are not very friendly and many of the employees are not very knowledgeable when you ask questions so I give a 4.

I work here. So naturally I'm a bit biased. The largest selection of rotated, refrigerated, and hard to find beers. Wicked Weed, Caskade, Crooked Stave, NoDa, Alesmith, The Bruery, etc. We also have a rotating growler menu.

Bestway is my go to bottle shop! If you can't find it here than it is either unavailable here, or it isn't worth having!
Roger, Nancy and Leslie have put a lot of hard work into this projct and it shows. The beer knowledge is some of the best around.

The selection is great, I won't deny that. There is beer gems tucked in every nook and cranny at a decent price. Wine was pretty sub-par, nothing that stood out. The problem is, you can have the best selection but the people make it a home run for me. It took forever for me to locate anyone, besides the one at the cash register. When I finally found someone, the answers I received were dismal. I wasn't even sure if it was lack of beer knowledge or maybe just not wanting to. Both employees were very unfriendly and less than helpful. Another problem, which I brought to their attention, is the outdated beer. I didn't look at snack items for dates but I found it on 3 different beers. I think this establishment is good and in a unique, but fitting, location but it could be phenomenal if managed properly.

I visited my father in Burlington, NC last week. Since I knew I'd need my beer fix, I looked around for a place that boasted a great selection. All roads led to Bestway.

I was very impressed with their selection, which was nicely set up. Local NC brews had their own display, which I thought was a nice way of promoting it. Beers were grouped by country of origin as well as by brewery. Overall, everything was easy to find.

Service was nothing special. Although, I may have just been talking to the wrong person. I saw a lot of Dark Horse displayed and asked one of the workers if they had Plead the 5th. The guy said, "I've never heard of that before." C'mon, man! Never heard of Plead the 5th?

But my complaint is a small one. If you're in the Greensboro area, this is the spot. This, or the Total Wine just off Rt. 40.

It looks like a rundown little grocery store but inside is the best beer store in North Carolina. They have a rotating selection of everything you could want. The staff is generally knowledgeable and they have helped me select some great beers I would never have tried otherwise. Perhaps best of all, the prices are as low and fair as any quality beer store I have seen. Bestway is a serious gem.

Bestway sets the bar for quality craft beer service establishments. Roger and Leslie go out of their way to serve their customers and it shows in everything they do. I make the 30 minute drive on a regular basis and will continue to becuase it is always worth it. Cheers to Bestway!!

This place is awesome. I would be willing to take the 25 minute trip out here anytime. The selection is amazing and couldn't get much better. If you are a beer fanatic you need to go to this place. I have recently relocated here from North East Ohio and have done quite a bit of exploring and this is by far the best beer store around.

This place is right down the street! Which can dangerous on payday. Staff is helpful. Can accommodate most request, just ask. Best craft beer selection in Greensboro. Wall Of Beers!!! This is almost overwhelming. Give yourself plenty of time to browse.

A must visit in Greensboro. One of the biggest cold displays I've seen in NC. Friendly staff, knowledgeable. Good little glassware display too. Several dozen bomber size bottles for display, maybe a dozen or so growler varieties. Lots of beers you won't find at any given Total Wine.

Re-review: September 2013 I bumped up my previous ratings from back in June; after living in Greensboro for about a year, this place is the best in town. They have new stuff ALL the time, several seasonals in rotation. Best place in town for NC beers, from Old Hickory to Fullsteam to Carolina Brewery, etc. Staff really is fun to talk to.

Not too often do I go into a store and feel overwhelmed enough to ask for help. I consider myself, fairly well versed in the art of beer. This was not the case here. There were so many different NC beers, it was insane! Being from SC, I hadn't heard of most of them, so I had to get some direction from the resident "beer guy". He was somewhat helpful in directing me to the better NC beers in the styles I liked. Overall, a fairly solid place and prices were reasonable.

This place is a gem. There are tons of beer to select from. The staff was very friendly, and very informative. I told them what I really like in a beer, and they pointed me in the right direction. They have a nice selection of growlers, to go along with all the 6 packs, and singles. This is a great place to stop in.

This place looks like a slightly sketchy grocery store (and a very small grocery store, maybe more like a glorified convenience store or bodega) but inside there is an amazing 1/4 of the store dedicated to great craft beer. There is nothing fancy about the exterior or the interior of the place but who the heck cares... Just turn left when you enter the store.

Lots of bombers, some single small bottles, lots of six packs, and a decent selection of glassware.

I didn't ask for any help from anyone here so I cannot evaluate the staff of the store - I felt a little like a kid in a candy store and had a hard time restraining myself for buying one of everything.

The selection at this place is great - just about all of the NC breweries are represented and with multiple offerings from each. Additionally there is a great selection of other craft breweries that distribute to NC and some really great European breweries.

Since it is a grocery, I am not going to review food.

Prices are competitive with other places I have visited in NC and would be good in NYC/NJ as well.

I was in town accompanying my wife on one of her marching band venture, so I thought I would stop by.

Atmosphere: I plugged this into my GPS and even when we were less than a quarter mile away, I started scratching my head. Yep, this place really comes out of the blue for sure! The interior looks like a grocery store, but the left hand side is absolutely magical! Hell, the ENTIRE left 1/4 of the store is dedicated to craft beer.... and they get the good stuff!

Quality: Nothing on the "beer side" of that store sucks. Seriously. If it's distributed to NC, this place has it.

Service: I went there fairly late at night, so I imagine that whoever the beer rep is had gone home, however, from me to him: KUDOS!

Selection: Like I said, all the NC greats were represented. e.g. Foothills, Olde Hickory, Duck Rabbit, Natty Green's, etc. Additionally, they had tons of imports (especially Mikeller) and an insane amount of brewery glassware. As for me on this visit, I picked up a FFF/Mikkeller "Boogoop," a couple of Olde Hickory bombers, and a Duck Rabbit snifter.

Value: Coming from DC, I thought the prices were just fine.

I highly recommend this store. However... bring a car!

From friendly, knowledgeable "beer geeks" (Leslie etc...), to Roger –– the personable, accessible, connoisseur owner, Bestway is at the top of its class. As soon as you step onto beer aisle you are assaulted with a myriad of tasty options. If you’re like me, you'll probably wish you hadn't spent so much money there (because there are so many options and you want to taste everything). But on the bright side, they're usually $2-5 cheaper than other local bottle shops. They're the best around; I promise you, you won't want to leave.

I was very happy to find a HUGE selection of beers that you can't find anywhere else. Their beer cooler runs the length of the store... you can find any style of beer and anything you can't find at your average places.

Found some Hop Slam there last night...also picked up a few Belgians for the wife along with some B Nektar Mead.

Love going to this place, it raises the bar for any beer/wine store in the Triad.

They sponsor the Summertime Brews festival every year...good selection of stemware.

Holy crap, the beer selection here doesn't seem to match the rest of the store (which looks to be a low priced grocery). They have serious selection, with enough regional beers to keep a traveller very happy while in town. This was the only store where I found Olde Hickory Imperial Stout (about $10 per bomber), also the lowest prices I saw anywhere else in Charlotte, Greensboro, Hickory, or Winston-Salem for Foothills, Olde Hickory, and Duck Rabbit beers.

Pretty good selection of Belgians, UK, and German beers, also plenty of non-Carolina USA craft. Everything was available in open coolers, the only negative being a bright flourescent light on top (not that big a complaint though).

Come for the prices, stay for the selection.

I've been a long time customer at Bestway and just realized I had never written a review for the place! My apologies. Hands down one of the best stores for craft brew (and unique ice cream) I've ever been to. From my first visit 1 1/2 years ago to my most recent visit just a few weeks ago, they never disappoint. Customer service is second to none! Roger and Leslie are always so friendly! Whether I'm hearing about the latest beers or just chatting about life in general, I always feel welcome. The wall of beer holds an amazing selection of beer from all over the US as well as imported beers. Lots of local NC brewed beers can be purchased as well as specialty beers done in collaboration with Olde Hickory. On top of the great selection, the prices are hard to beat. As one of the more recent reviewers of Bestway stated, Event Horizon is an excellent example of how competitive their prices are. (12.99 a bottle). I highly recommend this place.

I like Bestway alot and it has been my major supplier of brew since I got into "real beer". They have a great selection, a great friendly knowledgeable staff, and prices that are right in line. I've never purchased an outdated brew here (as opposed to Total Whine). One big thing that works out for me is that they open at 7a.m. which is perfect considering that I work 3rd shift (12a.m. - 8a.m.). Roger (the owner) is very knowledgeable and supports the local homebrewing clubs. I'd highly recommend looking them up if you are a local or are in town on business or during the holidays.

One last point I'd like to make is how they are not out to rape you on pricing Example : is the recent release of Olde Hickory's 2011 Event Horizon that was put out @ $12.99, probably the cheapest I've heard of in the Tar Heel state.

Bestway's selection was very impressive, a lot of local brews, local growlers, glassware, etc. This place has a very unique craft beer lay-out. Beers are organized from left to right geographically. You start on the west coast and work your way through North Carolina and Europe, etc. The atmosphere is that of a small, corner grocery until you get to Isle 7,...oh Isle 7! If you are in or near Greensboro please go to Bestway. It is very easy tell that Roger believes in and enjoys quality Craft Beer and he is happy to talk with you about it.

This doesn't look like your typical bottle shop form the outside. The location is a bit random in my opinion because its stuck in a neighborhood, close to a university, with music halls, pubs & bars as its neighbors.

The people here are extremely helpful. Warm greetings as you come in and they are quick to ask if you're looking for a particular brew. I asked about a particular brew and they were quick to respond with an answer and even went into storage to see if they had any more.

The place has a wall of beer!! Its an entire aile dedicated to this wonderful hobby/addiction/indulgence that we have. The selection is great and the value is even better. Some of the best prices I've seen around for craft brews.
