I was a little sketched out about this place since it's basically some guy who turned part of his basement into a store. It turned out to be a pretty cool little place though.

The owners name is Steve. He works full time still but opens his shop for 6-8pm Thursdays and Fridays, and 12-5pm on Saturdays. We chatted about some things and he seemed like a really nice guy. The place is small but he crams a good amount of stuff in there. He would order anything I wanted too if he didn't have it. Prices were reasonable and he tries not to over order, especially in the Summer, so he doesn't have grain and stuff sitting around. Which is good to know. He said he does okay business wise so there's probably decent turnover to keep things fresh.

He also had 3 taps going for sampling of some homemade beverages. He had a Porter, an Apple Beer, and Root Beer on tap. They were all from extracts and pretty good. He does CO2 tank exchanges and sacks of malt with one week notice too, which is nice.

I can't add much more to the other reviewers. Steve is a top notch guy and he'll let you pick his brain about brewing all day long. For such a small place, he always has what I need, be it hops, extract, grains, equipment, etc, he has it all. I have compared much of his pricing to online sites like Midwest and Northern and his prices are always either right on par or just a tad higher. When you weigh the benefit of getting what you need right there and then, not having to pay shipping, being able to pick his brain AND having the comfort of knowing all his stuff is pretty fresh, going here is a no brainer. Witches Brew is head and shoulders over other places I've been to. He's a really good guy, if he thinks you're wasting your money and has an idea of a cheaper alternative, he will tell you and actually talk you OUT of buying something from him.

As a regular at the witches brew, I must say that this has been the best of homebrew shops i have been too, the prices are very reasonable and he always has a good amount of stock, and he knows exactly what he has, which is great when you have questions or you are window shopping, also the advice is very good if your a beginner try this place you'll be satisfied, his website says "if we dont have it, you dont need it" its true i have rarely needed to venture elsewhere for anything...excellent shop.
