A: Pours a amber-copper orange color with a frothy white head.

S: Sweet malt on nose light flowery hopping.

T: Sweet malt flavor highlights this beer with an oktoberfest style body, Flavor is very clean with a warm caramel and dry flowery hopping.

M: moderate, smooth, creamy.

D: Very good example of style and good session amber I would thoughly enjoy in multiples. There is a nice earthy dry bitterness in the finish that balances out the sweet malt body nicely.

This is clearly not a beer officionados' drink. It is however the favourite beer in the house. It is strong, really sweet of honey and caramelised.
We are deploy saddened by its limited availability and lack of similar brews on the market.

So it 8s presented in good looking flick top bottle, very heavy golden colour tells one what expect. The drink is honeyed j the mouth and flows down very easily.

This is possibly what some would describe as a lady's beer. Certainly not the beer for a true bitter or lager drinker. Too strong and too sweet.

Not sure what this is trying to do, very confusing palate. Sweet and spicy, reminds me of the fall spiced beers in the US. Dark amber body with small creamy head, aroma is nutmeg, coriander, cinnamon. Spice dominates the taste as well, and lingers on the palate wit a hint of sugar. Slick, oily mouthfeel rounds this one out. Not bad, under the right circumstances.

500ml swingtop bottle into Swiss kitchenware glass in Zürich, Switzerland. Reviewed live.

I'm already suspect on account of the clear bottle. No good brewmaster allows such sophistry.

A: Half finger head of slight cream, bad thickness, and poor retention (less than 10 seconds, I mean Jaysus lads...). Nontransparent copper colour.

Sm: Very malty. Caramelized malt, at that. Lots of hops. A light strength scent.

T: Amber hops, subtle cream, caramelized malt, and surprisingly full barley. A lime ester climax surprises, but feels artificial. Actually the entire body feels artificial. The finish is comprised of dying esters. Pretty simplistic, unrefreshing, and in spite of these facts actually quite balanced. What are the merits of balancing falsities?

Mf: Smooth and wet, with nice welcome coarseness on the climax. A bit buttery, which is well done. Sort of matches the flavours of the body.

Dr: Relatively high ABV, decent quality, and sort of affordable. Give her a spin, but don't expect much.

This was bought in a 65cl bottle in France, the beer's home nation.

I'm not sure if international readers will understand the notion of a "shandy", which is a half-beer, half-lemonade mix, and which is also exactly the impression this beer makes. For a 6.3% brew, tasting like a shandy is a horrific indictment.

On drinking down the bottle, the aroma and (to a degree) the flavor suggests that some ginger may be present, but again only to the extent that, say, Canada Dry (does that still exist?) has ginger. Otherwise, this is a bland amber brew without any discernible hop character and only a token malt presence.

In other words, this barely tastes like beer at all.

I had just finished a couple of bottles of Fischer "tradition" and been deeply unimpressed by its thin malt flavor and aroma of nothing but this is worse, much worse.

330ml corked bottle served in a tulip.

A: Nice clear orange (to amber) color with a one to two fingers head which dissipates quickly leaving some lacings
S: Sweet malts, caramel, oak and alcohol
T: Sweet malts, caramel (or honey) and oak. I suppose that this beer is aged on Scotch or Cognac casks since it leaves a taste of Scotch malts and alcohol in the back of the mouth. Light sweetness in the beginning and light bitterness in the end
M: Light to medium body with medium carbonation
D: Medium. I felt a little bit "burden" after the first bottle

Not bad for a French beer.

My Aunt Linda brought this back for me from France. Thanks Auntie.

First and foremost this beer has a great bottle. It's clear with a flip top and multiple reliefs of a child drinking beer on a barrel. It also has a side view of a pregnant woman drinking a beer with a "x" through it. Clearly, in France, children can drink beer but not pregnant women. C'est la vie.

Anywho, clear, dark amber, almost copper with a bug fluffy brown tinted white head. Leaves lacy crags and a thin film retention.

Earthy yeast, apricot, dried plant life and dark candi sugar aroma. Taste is extremely fruity, much more than I've had in any previous Belgian pale. Dull phenolic spice and dark candi sugar. Severe damp earthen fade ends each sip on a bad (for me) note. Fluffy, yet sparse, carbonation.

Pours amber with fizzy off-white head that dissapears soon, no lacing. Aroma is sweetish caramel malt with light hops.

Taste is clean sweetish caramel malt with mild spicy flowery hops, could be the effect is enhanced by the carbonation. Mouthfeel is ligh-medium with more than average carbonation and light smooth alcohol warming.

Overall, unexpectedly nice and refreshing drink.

Réserve Ambrée pours nicely with a decent off white two inch build up of foam, and has a thoroughly filtered body, which is an amber copper color.

The aroma is fresh and malty. There is evidence of molasses like character.

The taste is unique and a bit fruity. It is malty up front, but settles to an almost berry and melon like flavor.

This feels very smooth and refreshing up front, but there is a reminder of the slightly high ABV in the end.

This makes for a good desert beer, perhaps with a plate of mixed fruits, as well as peach or raspberry pie.

Overall I'm very pleasantly surprised with this beer for being more complex and refreshing than anticipated.
