Poured this from the flip top bottle into a pub glass.

A: Had a nice amber, light color with a solid white head that stayed for a couple of minutes. Lacing was thick and stayed throughout the entire glass.

S: Wasn't impressed by the smell. Didn't get floral or fruity notes, just malt.

T: I like the taste of this beer. I get flavors of honey and a slight taste of caramel. Fairly one note. It's not bursting with flavor. The alcohol is well hidden in the background at 6.0%. There is a slight malty and nutty aftertaste, but I like it.

M: Tastes good on the palate. It doesn't overwhelm the mouth.

D: Very drinkable and could put back several of these without really noticing it.

16oz swingtop bottle at work (first work tick, hell yeah!).

Pours, well, amber, with decent clarity and a small white head.

The aroma is caramel malts and grain, maybe some appley yeastiness.

The flavor is rather simple. Caramel malt, slight nuttiness and earthiness, somewhat sweet.

Medium-light bodied with carbonation on the higher end.

Overall, pretty run-of-the-mill, but nothing offensive to it.

After not being much impressed with the Desperados brew from this brewery while on vacation in France, I figured I'd give them another chance at this beer.

I wasn't really expecting much, but I found I really liked it. The taste wasn't too complex, but it was a nice ever so slightly burnt malt flavoring, with a decent light cherry nose matching the color and flavor.

While the alcohol content wasn't by any means high, the taste gave me the impression the BAC was much higher.

I didn't mind this brew at all. Not bad, but not as complex as it could be. It'd be quite fine for a hot day's drink.

Maybe a little better than the other Fisher beers I drank...but not much.

I had a few different Fischer beers while on vacation in Western Germany, France and Luxembourg. None of them were outstanding but none were offensive either. Just disappointing average beers when I was searching for European quality beer that can't be found at home.

The appearance was typical amber with some head and little lacing. The aroma was grainy and the taste was that of an average euro-lager. Easy to drink and would be a good lawn mower beer here.

I won't be too disappointed that I can't get it here.

Poured into a Pilsner glass

A: Pale copper with golden tints; thick white head that thins out pretty quickly; lots of bubbles

S: Lots of grain with some hops and a hint of apple. Not an exceptional smell, but kind of nice

T: Grains dominate followed by apple , maybe a little bitterness of hops in the aftertaste and the apple lingers; crisp

M: Light carbonation; pretty smooth, but mostly because of the wateriness; wet paper? rather disappointing

D: good, because it's completely inoffensive in taste, the low point is the mouthfeel

Had a good frothy head; 12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass, served "refrigerator cold".

I wouldn't say the color is amber, I'd really say it's more of a caramel.

Had a flowery taste, but tasted "thin" in terms of carbonation. For how well it held its head, it ended up being a little watery. Went down very smooth, no chewing needed.

Overall, I really enjoyed this beer, and was surprised to see that it only got a "C" on here.

And the bottom of the barrel takes a beating again today, got off early and hit up greans and bilo and grabbed what I could, this should be a fun night. Served cold and poured into my pint glass, consumed on 08/23/2010

grabbed this bottle off the shelf as i really could not believe it ws in the bottom list, and i still dont think it was terrible. pours a light hazelnut brown with a thin whispy head that fades very quickly an leaves behind no lacing what so ever.

aroma is dull caramel, light grains, touches of bread but not much else. just seems rather thin to be honest an the feel was extremely thin. light malts, a touch of caramel but again all very, very thin.

overall i expected more based on the look of the bottle but i cannot say it was horrible, just suffered from too thin of a feel.

Pours a very thin and light brown, but impressive color. No head, lacing etc. . .

Aroma was of a rusted metallic shed. Taste was gritty for how thin the beer was. No hops. Malt aspect is just for color. Just not enjoyable really, and was a little too pricey for what it was. I'd probably rather drink BMC. I guess its a decent homebrew bottle.

Appearance: Pours to a translucent dark gold, with reddish undertones. Nice, foamy white head that lasts. Minimal lacing.

Smell: Smells of earthy malts and slight hops.

Taste: Caramel malt and some nutty tones are all that present themselves. Almost no hops are evident and the alcohol flavors are uninhibited.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied, heavily carbonated.

Drinkability: No real strong flavor here. Pretty dull beer, goes down okay though.

Pretty cool in nose, one feels both the grain but also citrus. The mouth is easy, affordable and even enjoyable if slight level of flavor. It still tasted citrus, sweet and fairly present level of language, and where the malt by sips, we feel there a good foundation. However, beer is no basic unpretentious.

P: Comes in a real cool bottle. the flip top ones. 22 oz bottle. no best by date.

A: One finger head that dissipates quickly. no lacing. clear amber color of beer. bubbly head.

S: Malty, sweet caramel malt. and a little bit of hops.

T: Picked up caramel malt. but that was it...

M: Light body. Medium carbonation. Very thin.

D: Easy to drink. But not much flavor with it. a bit to watery also. i wouldn't buy it again.

look: 3 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.5

Appearance: Pours a clear, light amber body with a near white head that peters out fairly quickly.

Smell: Meager breadiness and faint nutty, caramel notes and a wash of fruitiness like sniffing a pitcher of fresh sangria blanca.

Taste: Washed out, watery tastes of nutty, faintly sweet caramel and salted bread speckled with brown sugar. Fruitiness akin to a splash of Mott's apple juice and white wine. Mild herbaceous hop character with a light, balancing bitterness. Small touch of alcohol warmth. Finishes relatively crisp with lingering tastes of bread and apple.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation. Soft mouthfeel.

Drinkability: A tad simplistic and ordinary, but it's goodly quenching as I sit here in muggy GA with the AC on the fritz. For being light in flavor, I would prefer to see less alcohol, but it's no big deal, I suppose.

Poured from an embossed swing top bomber. Bottle looks cool. Neck label says this is an amber ale although it's listed here as a lager, I'm slightly concerned.

Pours a deep straw with a loosely formed two finger head that recedes to nothing, quickly. Water clear, save for the color.

Aroma is light malt. Slightly caramel and nutty. Smallish hop aroma that wants to be a strong noble but fails.

Flavor is light malt with a slightly roasted caramel flavor. Slightly nutty with a smallish roast flavor that reminds me of a cheap American macro rip off of an amber. Finishes slightly sweet and with and astringent, with alcohol flavors running rampant. Actually aftertaste is very sweet, like there was sugar added to the mash.

Mouthfeel is thin and watery, but with a carbonation lushness that isn't bad. Overall, if there was a bit more substance it would be better.

I don't know about this beer, it is not an amber ale or even close. It is entirely an easy drinking, thin, high, ABV beer with a little flavor. Drinkability suffers greatly because of the ABV and the alcohol prominence. No reason I should taste alcohol this much with a 6%'er.

A - poured from a 1 pint, 6 oz bottle into a pint glass. No freshness dating noted. Medium amber in color, one finger head that receded into a tight off-white cap. Above average lacing.

S - not much there that I could detect other than some caramel and a bit of malt.

T - uhhhh, is this beer? metallic, almost tinny tasting.

M - light to medium-bodied. some aftertaste.

D - don't know what i was expecting, but it was more than this quaff. been there, done that, won't be back.

22oz bomber into a pint

A - Pours a light brown color. Tons of carbonation bubbling, and a very strong head is formed. It is retained at approximately 1 to 2 mm. Very clear, filtered.

S - Light pilsner malts and sweet 2 row nose - a hair of bready yeast notes in the background. Overall pretty clean, light.

T - Starts off smooth, sweet - some caramel and toffee notes, 2 row sweetness. Mid-stream is more dry, with some light hopping. Finishes with a bit of pilsner malts and then a stronger astringent edge. Aftertaste has some bitter sting to it.

M - Moderate beer bodied made much stronger by the hefty carbonation. A bit of sting to the palette. Aftertaste is somewhat clinging, tied to the bitter aftertaste.

D - Very drinkable - abv is up there but manageable. Can be a bit filling, but I'm having no trouble fitting this into my session.

Not a bad beer - nothing outrageously special either.

pours an apple cider (vinegar) yellow amber...nice fluffy head dissipates fast with some lacing.

actually smells a bit like a sparkling apple cider. i like it, but can't seem to find other smells i expect or want to smell.

taste is about as crisp as a sparkling cider. flavor is a bit sweet/sour in an interesting way, but mouthfeel is quite thin and there's virtually no finish. i wouldn't say it's 'dry' either...actually very drinkable. great with a sandwich. good alternative to a soda.

The only real downside to Fischer Tradition Amber was the smell. It smells very skunky. Very light colored, pale beer with nice foamy white head. Lightly carbonated. Not a whole lot of taste and flavor, but somehow a little refreshing. A bit of an aftertaste that some may not like. I actually like this beer for the most part, I would suggest trying it.

Fischer Amber seems to have all the halmarks of a standard German Lager- a soft and elegant malt flavor and feel with light herbal hops.

A beautiful beer that shows a bright amber color that seems to glow in the glass. Brilliantly clear and carries a stark white head that lingers through the session, leaving a lot of lacing behind.

Aromas are balanced between medium kilned malts (giving bread crusts and light caramel flavor) and water soaked grains. Yea, I prefer the balance here to tilt toward the malts but the light astringency that accompanies the grain flavor accentuates the alkaline and mineral content of the beer. This hurts the softness a bit but gives the beer a buffer against the straight-forward malt base.

Hop bitterness doesn't quite balance the beer but does keep the beer from becomming cloying while offering a nice herbal tone to taste. The beer ultimately dissapoints a bit because of it's one-dimentional malt/grain ratio and harsh (astringent) mouthfeel.

A - Light tawny/copper color. Slightly above average off-white head with decent retention.

S - Grain and some caramel malt, slight apple and lemon scent along with some earthy/herbal hops.

T - Mirrors nose for the most part. Mostly grainy and caramel malts with some nuttiness too. Alcohol is present but not really strong. Slight earthy/herbal hops.

M - Light body and somewhat thin.

D - Fairly drinkable, but with the flavors, I probably wouldn't drink a lot of these.

Notes: Not a horrible beer, but slightly below average.

A: Pours a bright, clear bronze-orange color with an assortment of large carbonation bubbles floating to the surface. The off-white head is relatively tall, with a dense, foamy texture. Retention is above average, with some fine rings of lace clinging to the glass.

S: A toasted graininess in the nose, with some fruity, nutty, and earthy/mineral notes. Hints of caramel and herbal/vegetal hops.

T: Rather toasty graininess up front, with some mild caramel sweetness. A light, vaguely British character, with light notes of fruit, nuts, and minerals. A mild herbal hop twang provides a little bitterness with minimal flavor.

M: Light bodied, with wilting carbonation. Finishes a bit dry.

D: Although mild and rather lackluster, this is a pleasant, readily drinkable dark lager. Aside from a weak mouthfeel, this was fairly enjoyable.

Picked up a bottle at my local Vons. Needed the swing top for something else.

A - Pours a dark golden color with less than a finger worth of head. There are TONS of carbonation bubbles everywhere. I can even hear it bubbling as the glass sits 2 feet away from my head.

S - Smells of grains, and alcohol.

T - Tastes of grains and alcohol. Very harsh, and bitter. This is kinda bad...like malt liquor bad.

M - Thin body and overly carbonated. Not so good.

D - I hope to never have another need for a swingtop bottle for a long time. I'd rather not drink this again.

Me being somewhat new to the whole beer scene; this bottle is pretty cool. Two things however don't look right. "Product of France" on label but yet no freshness date or alcohol % to be found. Good slow pour into a one pint glass from 1 pint 6oz bottle. Has a nice light copper walnut coloring with a nothing to write home about one finger head with ok lacing. The smell has hints of card board, foil, and a chardonnay. That's it, it smells of boxed wine! Oh and just a bit of pine nuts as well. Unfortunately because our taste buds are heavy on smell that's what it tastes like also a cheap chardonnay. Mouth feel was light and tingly (like wine). I was a little disappointed in this one Beer should taste of Beer (hops/malt).
The after burp car tell you a lot about the beer you just had and this one tasted of a mimosa. Burp test scale of 1-5.... 0.

Consumed 1/30/2010- from notes.

1 pint 6oz swing top brown bottle as pictured poured into a pint glass.

A- A washed out copper topped off by a burly two finger chunky white head that took a loooong time to settle. Pretty good lacing and steady small streamers of carbination. Looks good so far!

S/T - Doing these together because they were basically identicle. Kind of sweet and sour skunk at the same time. A little malt as well but just barely noticable. Maybe some light citrus hints but I couldnt be sure. A funky after taste, I want to say cloves but I dont think thats it.

M- Medium bodied and crisp, mild carbination tingle.

D- About a third of the way into the glass the taste got too be too much. Didnt finish and wont be looking for this one again.

Attractive 22 oz flip top bottle with no discernable freshness date. Pours a very clear, light amber color with a thick fluffy white foam. Nice retention and excellent lacing.

Nose is marginally toasty and honey drizzled malts. Not much in the way of hops and has a bit of metallic/sourish smell to it. Does not smell overly fresh and there is some hints of cardboard and stale pizza crust.

Taste is worse than it smells. Very toasty malts up front with a sugary and metallic finish. Harsh alcoholic notes even though it is only 6%. Perhaps this is why the French like wine better? I am not sure if I will be able to finish this thing. Mouthfeel is fairly thin, even with the nearly cloying malts. To sum it up...cool bottle, shitty beer.

poured from swing top bottle into duvel tulip

A: pours amber, with a half finger off white bubbly head. laces on glass ok.
S: strange smell of the swing tops rubber seal. sort of sour malt
T: same rubber in the smell is in the taste. also sour malt, not much hops.
M: medium carbonation, kind of a bite
D: the rubber flavor is off putting enough to rate it low, im going to try to find the beer without a swing top to try again. first drain pour in a long time.
