A pale, strong ale, well hopped as tradition demands.

On cask at C'est What's 2010 Fall Festival of Craft Breweries. Pours a copper amber colour without much head. Smells quite English (assuming this is an English IPA), with floral and earthy hop smell. Nice bitterness level. I'd have this again if I see it, but likely won't seek it.

On tap for C'est What's Fall Festival.
Poured a clear amber, alludes to some orange around the edges, with no head or lacing from this pour and struggles to produce much with a quick swirl. Nose is a gentle, understated citrus and some berries here too. Taste doesn't differ much, but follows down the berry path with some sweet, inoffensive toffee/caramel malts. Certainly malt forward, not a significant bitterness here. Impressive clean and smooth mouth with solid drinkability, given the smoothness and lack of complexity. Not bad at all, and the ABV is not evident at all.

At Volo's Ontario IPA Cask Challenge. Not a bad one, neutral aroma and golden appearance without head, again it could have used a few dys. Decent bitter flavour, average cask mouthfeel. Fuggles hops, excuse me organic fuggles. For aroma, golding. That is, organic golding.
