On-tap at Rockbottom.
Beer is dark caramel with a moderately-sized off-white head. Good retention.
Bright fruity scent i the nose, with tropical and citrus fruit. Some oak is there, but not overly strong.
The oak is much stronger in the flavour. It couples with pine, which is the dominant hop flavour. Some citrus (lemon) and a hint of tropical fruit is there as well. Strong caramel malt presence. A number of different flavour elements, but they are not particularly well integrated. Also, the malt is too strong. Quite bitter. Some alcohol heat, but not a lot considering the ABV.
Full bodied, moderate carbonation. Some heat, but not too much. Oily.
Overall, not bad, but not great. 5oz was more than enough. The oak is pretty heavy.
