I have always ordered my supplies online. I have found a site that does well as far as ordering grain by the oz instead of just the pound. However, I have always wished that I could buy my supplies the day before, or the day of a brew session. Previously I had to plan everything around shipping and so on. In comes Brewer's Art Supply.

This is NOT a huge shop, but the selection inside was surprising. They have grain, hops, and yeast (duh) at a competitive price, in stock. I actually built my recipe online just to see the cost compared to this shop, and it was only a few dollars difference. My biggest fear of high cost is not gone. I was astonished to see Blichman products in house as well. This is a brew shop for some legit homebrewer's. Not to mention, it was nice to get to hold equipment I had only read about or YouTube'd previously. The staff was intelligent, polite, and more than ready to handle any question I had. I can't recommend this shop enough. They have a new customer on their hands.

BTW, there is nothing better than being able to taste grain and adjust a recipe. I had the owner weighing my grain when I tasted a different style of 2-row and changed my mind. She was more than happy to change things and help me out. Again, I can't recommend this shop enough. I only wish their website were up and running properly.

I like Brewer's Art. They've always been incredibly friendly and able to work with me on getting my ingredients quickly and efficiently. They've been responsive when I've made arrangements to have stuff ready for pickup and are always able to get me what I need.

I used to buy full kits online and have them mailed to my house. But I'm a little sporadic when it comes to getting my ingredients. Art's has always been really accommodating in getting me what I need when I need it.

I should also mention that they moved down the street from their old strip mall location and are a block further down on Well's. They have a really cool mural on the side of the building. You can't miss it.

It's a reasonable brew store. They don't have alot for premade kits. There are the brew in a can. There are the brewers best kits, which I think are just expensive anyways. They crush the grains for free. Not alot on the hop and yeast selection, but it's ample. They have very weird hours so visit the website or call ahead. Regardless it's where I will do my fort wayne shopping. check it out if you're getting into homebrew, the crew there is informative and helpful.

The location is downtown and can be difficult and out of the way for many people to get to, but consider going here pre mad anthony for dinner because it's not that far away.

One of the workers here I know is heavily involved with the M.A.S.H. club and I think that is also directly related to Mad Anthony as well

Over the summer I had an internship in Fort Wayne and subsequently picked up the beautiful art form that is home brewing. naturally it being my first time I did some research on some ingredients and tried to play it off that I knew what I was talking about to the shop attendant. He say straight threw my bull shit right away and realized I needed help.

this dude was awesome, He really knew his art and was able to answer all my questions as well as help me pick out some simple grains and hops to get started with. He's been there every other time I've been and as I've learned more each time he has helped me with more and more advanced techniques and equipment.

Before my first visit I had purchased all the equipment I needed at walmart. This was a mistake. But the shop had it all: tubing, ale pails, pots, racking rods, bottles, caps, cappers, car boys, everything. Every time I went in I realized I could improve my process by purchasing legit equipment and this place had everything I needed.

The selection was pretty good they have a whole wall dedicated to dry grains, but I must say one time I couldn't find hopped liquid extracts, and the yeast selection is somewhat limited, but this super dude behind the counter help me find the same strain with a different company so everything turned out all right.

Overall this place is awesome and if your in the fort wayne area this is the shop to head to.

P.S. The package all their grains by hand and so the shop smells like a beer geeks heaven on earth, I could live in there.

This is my local homebrew supply store, and I find the owner to be very friendly and helpful. Grains and hops are available for taste/smell. White Labs and Wyeast starters, and mostly pellet hops.

I have attended the 'Free Beer' making classes in the past and found them to be quite helpful in getting me started.

The owner's father makes some 'hickory' smoked grain, (in limited quantities) of which I was fortunate enough to obtain some.

I also feel fortunate that this local homebrew supplier is only about 6 blocks from my home.

Winemaking supplies too !

I believe that Brewer's Art Supply in Fort Wayne is directly related to the Mad Anthony Brewing Company, or at least that's what I would surmise from the brewery tattoo on the right breast of the helpful lady working behind the desk.

Though a very small location stuck inside a strip mall, you'll find all the basics to get started brewing, or to re-up for your next batch. The hops are all pellets, unsurprisingly, but are available for a competitive price. You'll find enough to brew basic clones, but don't expect to find anything out of the ordinary.

They also have a nice selection of malt extracts, brewing sugars, and whole grains. Though they have bottles and bombers, as well as capping equipment, i've never purchased any - much too costly.

Overall, a nice little brewing shop but one you'll graduate from rather quickly. But there is enough friendly, knowledgable help to keep you coming back.

I haven't been there in a while. But the times I've been there, the staff has been very helpful and knowledgeable.

They haven't always had what I was looking for, but they've always had substitutions that will do, or are able to order what I've wanted.

They are always willing to answer all my stupid questions without making me feel ignorant.

They are a little hard to find if you're not familiar with Fort Wayne, but after you've been there a couple times, it becomes familiar.

As a newby, I found them to be a great resource. Which is good since they are the only store in the region.
