I had this beer on-tap in a glass mug at the Hillside in Seattle.

Appearance: clear orange hue with a light effervescence and a good ivory head. Attractive!

Smell: sweet, neutral malty aroma with a light fruity hop component. Not anything exciting, but decently presented.

Taste: moderately sweet malt with a big hop bitterness right up front, continuing all the way through. Hop character is citrusy and floral. Closer to a traditional English pale ale than a typical west coast hop bomb. Not bad!

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and creaminess for the style. I like it.

Overall: a tasty and drinkable pale ale; atypical in its mildness in this day and age. Good stuff.

Lovely coppery amber color in the Affligem chalice with a bold head, lacing all over the glass, and a pleasant sudsy mouthfeel. Aromas of bread and citrusy hops.

Modest maltiness with a slight touch of sweetness. The hops are somewhat leafy but not quite dank. A piney bitter tang carries through to the aftertaste. Thoroughly drinkable, moderately bitter, and refreshingly light overall. For this kind of brew, there's nothing wrong with being inoffensive. The warmth and spicy hops grow on you.

This is a classic American sort of Pale Ale with the big hops and a restrained, dry maltiness. From the 34 oz jug purchased at the Schooner Exact brewery in south Seattle.

A: Poured a slighly hazed deeper yellowish with a thin white cap, bubbles and light lacing clinging to the side of the glass

S: As beertunes mentioned there isa nice little Earthiness and grain like presence which is characteristic of SchoonerE's Pale's. There is a nice little fruitiness to back it up

T: Light orange and a dash of lemon zest with a subtle crisp hop bitterness which carries on a lighter citrus note to the finish.

M: Light to medium bodied, well carbonated, clean and rather refreshing

O: Drinkable and rather crushable.

Served in straight pint glass. Poured a cloudy yellow color with just a thin cap of white head that had low retention and moderate lacing.

The lead aroma was nice earthy malt, with some lightly citrusy hops in the background. The taste was pretty much the same, but inversed. The citrus hops were upfront, then the smooth malts came across in the middle of the tongue. The hops reappeared and lingered at the back of the tongue.

The body was fairly average, smooth, even, clean and balanced. Drinkability was pretty good, I could have had several of these. Overall, a very nice brew that will make a good summertime companion. Worth trying if you see it.
