New Brewery in the area that I read about and still haven't seen taps in any of my regular ale houses. Decided to take a growler and check it out.
It's a warehouse brewery in an industrial park area of Redmond. But the Taproom is a step up from what you typically find at that type of place. There's a small bar when you walk in with 8-10 seats and maybe 10 tables. All are iron and stressed wood, new but made to be old. It's new so everything is clean and attractive. The lone TV by the bar was playing ESPN Classic boxing (Bowe v. Hollyfield II, Fanman, Niiiice.)
They have six beers on tap which looks like the regular lineup. I got a smapler tray to decide what I wanted to take with me. Kristale, a crystal wheat german style with light clove, an unfiltered version of the same, Totem Pale with HUGE amounts of citrus hops, Trickster IPA, very good, Morrighan Stout, a dry kind of thin version, and A Brown Porter. They also had two guest beers, one from Big Al's and one from Chuckanut in a display of new brewer solidarity. All the beers were good and the IPA was VERY good. So basically your typical line-up for a start-up brewery.
I got a growler of the Brown Porter which is a pretty unique beer. (review coming soon).
There were two servers and when I arrived, no seats except in the back room by the brewery. That room has a very temporary feel. I moved to the main taproom pretty quickly. No kitchen yet but they encourage delivery/bring in. They plan to add a kitchen once the brewery is up to speed.
Overall, a pretty nice place. I'm not sure I would go out of my way to get here....yet. But it shows promise. I wish them the best of luck.
UPDATE Late August '09. Needed to be somewhere vaguely near here on a Friday afternoon. Went in and it was packed. Didn't want to take the lone table by myself so I had to wait. Sipped a pretty nice belgian strong that was malty with just a little belgian yeast character. They had a local pizza place selling pies in the back. I may have to become an evangelist for thier pale ale. Good session but also hoppy Standard Pale.
Gald to see they seem to be doing well. I've been pestering some of my locals to get the Pale or the IPA.

Some of the best beer you'll ever try but the wait and service is their weakest part! I don't care for the wait staff but the beer makes it worth it. Beaux Bowman is a genius brewer who found the right occupation, I hope he can get his staff on the same level as his product.
