I stop by here often. The staff is very knowledgeable and will order whatever you want. Although the selection is small the cigars they do stock are a premium blend. Its a relaxing atmosphere and they make you feel at home.

Great little beer oasis. Doing work for Owens Corning but live in Dayton. I almost missed it on the way to my hotel but fate was kind. Good selection not great. As I said an oasis. There was absolutely nothing outside of Columbus proper.
Folks were attentive and great.

This is a nice place. It has a little separate side with a bar with 6 taps and some bottled beers. You can grab a beer while browsing their selection. I ran into some fairly unique barrel aged beers here they seemed outrageously expensive but it might just be the brewery. Very nice owners nice place in what appears to be a craft beer wasteland this is an oasis.

Stopped in on a trek to locate some 3 floyds one day. Lots of wine but had a really nice cooler section full of craft beers. Loads of ohio based beers along with typicals like Sammy adams, dogfish, sierra Nevada etc. They had mounts of white rajia which was amazing to see. Seasonal beers, along with some specialties from the bruery, founders and a couple 3 floyds. The bar located on the other side had a nice list of about 10 craft beers and some macros. Prices were right on with anywhere else. Not sure about food, didn't notice anything there. In all, the place was clean, very bright and easy to walk around in the store. If im ever close to the area I would stop back in for sure.

Great place. Easy to miss. Hate to tell too many people about it for fear they will buy all my beer! Bar attached always has a few good beers on tap. Very knowledgeable. Selection is the best outside of Columbus or Cincinnati as far as harder to find stuff. A little bit small, but only matters when it is crowded. If you are looking for something in east central Ohio and you cant find it between here and the Winerak in Zanesville, you may as well go home.

Everyone who doesn't know about this store needs to find out, for someone tucked in the Ohio Valley I'm blessed to be able to drive an hour North, East, West, or South and find extensive selections of good beer. If I drive South I land in Marietta Ohio, at the House of Wines, if I drive North I land in Boardman at Vintage Estates, Havana House, and Chalet Premier. If I decide to head East, I end up in Pittsburgh at a plethora of good beer options. However I never thought of driving West, unless I was making the commitment to go all the way to Columbus. Here on the BA forums I was watching a New to Ohio thread, about new beers available to Ohio. Were one of the OH BAs keffa suggest checking out The Beverage Source, due to the fact that he stopped and they had Three Floyd's Jinx Proof, Zombie Dust, War Mullet, and Permanent Funeral. This struck a chord for me, and I enlisted driving services of wvsabbath to make an unplanned beer trip into the heart of Ohio for some Three Floyd's wares. After 2 1/2 hours of driving we landed at a remote liquor store off the side of the highway, we initially entered into the establishment on the right side to a small old school bar room where Founder's Backwoods Bastards, Three Floyd's Gumballhead, and other craft offerings were being quaffed on tap. We found the back way to the other side where we stepped into a small room filled with nothing but quality wine, beer, and mead. Some of the names that caught my attention were the Brew Kettle White Rajah IPA, Clown Shoes, The Bruery, Three Foyd's, Bear Republic, Jackie O's, and many more craft options small but killer selection.. . This proves you don't need to carry 1000 beers to have a world class selection, this place kept the beers in great shape with much attention paid to carrying nothing but quality. No one as much as attempted to offer us assistance but we didn't really need it, I couldn't help but enjoy watching the older gentleman behind the counter throw back his bottle of Budweiser...I was appreciative that he's saving more of the good stuff for me. He knows not drink off of his own supply, the money makers are for the customers!!!

This place is like a craft drinker/beer connoisseur's dream for anyone in central Ohio. There is no other place in the area with this type of selection. The macro/domestics are shoved in their own tiny little corner haha. This place has everything from Samuel Adams and Sierra Nevada, to Great Lakes, Columbus Brewing, Stone, Bell's, Dogfish Head, Lagunitas, 3 Floyds, Flying Dog and much much more. The prices fit each beer perfectly. A six pack of Sierra Nevada is a buck cheaper than Walmart. Great store, makes Zanesville's Winerak seem like a little corner store.

Ok, all I can say here is WOW! I went into The Beverage Source for the first time today with my wife and we were both very suprised. Great little selection of bombers and all cooled 6 packs. We found Black Ops and BA Rasp on the shelf and in the cooler. Also saw Fantome, Dark Intrigue, a few 3 Floyds, some Weasel Boy growlers, etc...

I am very impressed by this little of the beaten path place. I intend on shopping there very often and having a few in the bar from time to time.

Also Jim is a great help and great to talk too.

This is by far my favorite place to shop. They the best selection you can find in Newark. All of the employees are very nice and helpful. They also have bar on the other side of the store. They always have good brews on tap and in bottle. I would say if you are looking for a place to get some brew you can't find anywhere in town. You gotta go to the Bev Source. About the only downfall would have to be size of the bar and parking. It tends to get a little packed and parking is always full on the weekends. They do hav a nice outside patio to sit and enjoy the weather.

This is, by far, my favorite place to shop anywhere near my hometown of Zanesville.

Create a 6 pack for 9.99, glassware for 3.00 each, lots of rare or harder to get beers, lots of stuff that you can't get elsewhere. Small bar with 6 taps attached to the store, along with singles in the fridge for consumption.

The best part? Joel and the staff's knowledge and love for beer. They have no problems answering questions, making suggestions, or even ordering things for you if they can or holding releases for you. I got to try the Bell's Oracle because Joel was kind enough to save me a couple, even though they sold out within a few hours of getting their case.

The only thing I could ask for is for them to offer more in terms of single 12 oz bottles.

Otherwise, if you are anywhere near the Granville/Newark/Heath/Hebron area, stopping at Beverage Source is a must.

I've been driving to Granville and Newark (for beer and culture) from my place in Columbus all summer, and even drove by The Beverage Source before but had never thought about stopping there.

After reading some reviews here, I decided to give it a try. Nice joint! Small but focused selection of craft beer, with Dogfish, Stone, Victory, Left Hand, Bell's, Founders, North Coast... the usual suspects. Dogfish Burton Baton struck me as a rarity for a small beer shop in Newark, Ohio.

Prices were more than decent, service is very genuine and nice and they have a bar on the other side of the store where you can sample lots of brews, both bottled and on draft.

Reminded me of Vintage Estate in Boardman, but better (even if the selection is smaller).

I bought a Dogfish/Victory/Stone Saison du Buff, Left Hand Two Sisters and Lagunitas Wild Sumpin'. Wouldn't go out of my way to come here because I live in Columbus and have better choices, but if you happen to live in Newark/Granville/Licking County, you MUST make this your beer destination!

Kudos to the owner for bringing quality brews to a struggling-but-nice town.

I moved to Granville from New York a few months ago, and since then the Beverage Source has become my go-to shop for all things beery. The guys there are extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, the quality is outstanding, prices are good, and the selection is substantial. A must-stop for any BAs anywhere on this side of Columbus, especially in the Granville-Newark-Heath area.

Quality at the Beverage Source is exceptional, and absolutely one of its strengths as a business. The owner, Joel, who has years of experience running the beer situation over at Brews Cafe, has combed over the world of craft beer and allowed the creme de la creme to rise to the top here: La Chouffe, Cantillon, Mikkeler, Nøgne Ø, BrewDog, Jolly Pumpkin, The Bruery, Hoppin' Frog, Bell's, Founders, Dark Horse, New Holland, Two Brothers, AleSmith, Dieu du Ciel, De Dolle. Not to mention solid offerings from Great Lakes, Stone, Dogfish Head, Unibroue, Left Hand, Brooklyn, Avery, Lagunitas, Moylan's, and others.

Service at the Beverage Source tops even the quality of the offerings. The guys there always are happy to talk about beer, point out new and special things in the selection, help take your purchase out to your car, not mind my crazy 2-year-old...all around just great service, and they're absolutely willing to go above and beyond! These guys rule with the service.

The selection at the Beverage Source is very good, and as noted above, the quality is absolutely exceptional. The only thing that could make it better would be expansion...hopefully that will come as more BAs discover this Licking County gem!

Cheers!

i have driven past this place every day for about 3 months now on my way home from school. Little unassuming building with a non-descript sign. 'beverage source' <shrug> Brews is just a few miles away, why bother.
how wrong i was...
a friend of a friend stopped in one time to pick up a case of some fizzy american 'beer' and was complaining to me that he had to look through a whole case of 'snob beer' before he found his cardboard box of mgd.
needless to say, i was intrigued!
I did a google search of this place and found a Facebook entry for them. looked at the profile pic and they had a shot of one of their coolers. The beers i saw were all good, that did it, i was stopping.
went in with my wife who is more of a wine drinker and she informed me that their selection of 5-10 dollar bottles was very impressive, dont really care myself, but thought i should mention it.
spent a good long time browsing and found many bottles i know i love and even some that i had yet to try (an impressive feat to be sure)
I always buy a few extra to cellar when i see something good and i ended up needing help to get it all out to my car!
as we were leaving, started talking to the guys there and mentioned a coulple of brews that i thought they were missing and sure enough, the first thing they did was offer to get it for me! not even a special request, just something they do for their customers! how awesome.

I made my first trip to The Beverage Source today, and I wasn't disappointed. After hearing a few recommendations about the place I finally made it out there. They have a great selection of craft beer (and wine too), so I didn't have any problems finding something I liked. They carry a good selection of Stone, Jolly Pumpkin, Avery, Du De Ciel, Founders, New Holland and Cantillon brews, just to name a few of the brands they carry. The beer is both on the shelf and in coolers, but the larger selection of it is in the coolers. Joel was helpful and great to talk to, he's very knowledgable about beer in general and knows about what he's selling if you have any questions. The prices are reasonable, I don't have any complaints about the place at all. If you're ever in the Newark area, you should definitely stop in to see what all they have to offer.

Located in Newark, they are probably the best place to get beer in the Licking county area. They also sell wine. They have a great selection (both American Craft and Imports) considering they have only been open for a couple of months. The selection gets better every time I stop in. The guys really know their stuff are are always very helpful. They are able to get some limited releases and they sell 1/6 th barrels. Joel has been willing to order me anything avaliable in Ohio. They have started to hold regular beer tastings. A very solid establishment and I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves good beer.

Absolutely the best beer store in Licking County, bar none. Joel is a fantastic beer guy and knows his selection inside and out. Selection is awesome and only getting better. All beer is always state minimum and Joel is able to get a bunch of special releases others may not be able to. Stone, Dogfish, Clipper City, Du De Ciel, Cantillon, Jolly Pumpkin, Weihenstephaner, Two Brothers, etc. all represented. Last time I was there I got a Sublimely Self Rightous, Burton Baton, and some Peche Mortel. A pretty good haul, really. Check it out if you're in the area.
