12oz bottle poured into a shaker pint.

A - An aggressive pour produces two fingers of pillowy, bone-white head atop a pale straw-gold beer. Nice lacing down the glass.

S - Grainy cereal aroma, a touch of fruit -- apple? -- and some leafy, herbal hop aroma.

T - Bready and vinous, with a pleasant touch of sweetness. Tastes a bit of corn, though I'm not sure any was used. Hops provide a spicy, herbal counterpoint and bitterness is low. Light, balanced finish.

M - Crisp, light body. Perhaps a tad too highly carbonated.

D - Probably a good summer beer -- though I might prefer a pilsner or kolsch, I definitely wouldn't turn this down if offered. A good execution of the style. I'd especially recommend this as a crossover beer, particularly as a substitute for the oft-requested Spotted Cow.

Picked this up at as part of a mixed sixer from Goebbel's in Wichita, review based on notes:

Pours an effervescent gold with 2 fingers of pearl colored head. Good lacing & above average lacing

S: Lemony, grassy, doughy & some perfumey hops as well. I wish this beer was a good as it smelled...

T: Lemony hops, breadyness & metallic twang as well. More of the same as this warms, along with soapyness. Finishes with a touch of lemongrass

MF: Light bodied, becomes watery as it warms. Vigorous carbonation & so-so balance

Drinks okay, lack of flavor depth & thiness undoes this one. Not even as good as the overall score it got from me. So far this brewery is not impressing me

Poured from 12oz bottle.

A- Pours a clear golden yellow color. One and a half finger white head shows medium retention. Medium sized streaked lacing on the sides of the glass.

S- Some cereal grain aroma in the front of the aroma. Light toasted malts also show up next. Floral hops in the ending bring up the full aroma profile.

T- Toasted malt bill with a hint of cereal grain in the front of the beer. Middle of the beer shows a nice balancing herbal hop quality to it. Ending is some wet grains mixing with herbal hops. Alcohol is light and kind of sweet.

M- Light mouthfeel. Carbonation is good for the style. Toasted malt and herbal hops are left on the palate. Aftertaste is mostly sweet alcohol, grains, toasted malts and herbal hops. Flavors are well balanced for the style. No off flavors are apparent in the beer itself. Light alcohol drying on the palate.

O- The style of beer is not my favorite but this beer had good flavor to it. A nice drinker during the summer while mowing the lawn. I like this beer and would have a couple before going onto something else.

Bought in a mix and match 6 pack at Binny's in Chicago. Havent heard of this brewery before so decided to give them a shot.

A: pours a straw yellow color with a good amount of head
S: Not much of a smell here. At least it doesn't smell skunky
T: tastes pretty much like any old american beer, nothing special at all
M: very nice mouthfeel, the carbonation is very refreshing.
O: Overall an ok beer. I can definitly sit down and drink a ton of them and feel pretty good. Wouldn't search it out again though.

Thanks to Sebastian for the extra!

Bright gold, fizzy trails of carb, no lacing. Sweet apple aroma, a bit swilly and grainy, needs more refinement, hops to balance, just something...anything. Reminds me of overly sweet Euro/Czech lagers.

Thin body, astringent apple and pale malt. Crackery and a bit flaccid in feel. Dry finish with some papery traces. Swampy.

Fairly easy to quaff if you ignore the flavor. Not going to revisit this, hope it was an old bottle because it wasn't good at all.

I found this single 12oz brown bottle at the Binny's store in Plainfield, IL for $1.59. No freshness date.

The beer poured out a slightly hazed pale gold color and made a 1½-finger white head. The head lasted about a minute before fading to a rim and lacing was decent.

The beer smells malty sweet along with a honey aroma and mild grassy hops.

Nice caramel/toffee sweetness along with mild grassy hops for some balance.

Light, crisp, and refreshing with carbonation on the high side.

Nothing special, but a nice everyday drinking beer.

12 ounce bottle. Hmm, once upon a time it seemed like it was just Boulevard in Missouri, then Schlafly, and now Crown Valley. Pours a golden straw color with a nice sudsy head. I get lots of straw and light malt smell in the nose. Light mouthfeel. Cereal up front, giving way to lemonay and floral notes, followed by a semi bittersweet finish. This would be a fairly decent "lawnmower" beer. Enjoyable.

Clear, hazed blonde with a fizzy white head of foam. Sweet white fruit and untoasted grain and hay in the aroma. Sweet and grainy with a touch of graham cracker and honey, no discernable hop flavors. Light bodied with effervescent carbonation. An easy drinker but kind of one-note.

Served in a Gale Sayers shaker pint glass.

Finally gettin' around to tryin' out some o' these Crown Valley brews. Been long enough... This one pours a lightly hazy golden straw topped by over a finger of white foam. The nose comprises honey-drizzled biscuits, very light caramel, and plenty of grass. The taste brings in more of the same, though the honey is decidedly less present, or, at least, less sweet. The grass takes the van in this maneuver. The body is a hefty light, with a light moderate carbonation and a pretty dry finish. Overall, an alright brew, nothing close to special, but something light-ish, easy-going, and non-threatening.

Pours a clear, pale yellow color. 1/5 inch head of a white color. Decent retention and decent lacing. Smells of sweet malt, wheat, and slight yeast cleanliness. Fits the style of an American Blonde Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, wheat, slight biscuit, very slight citrus flavor, and some yeast cleanliness. Overall, a full bodied blonde that is still smooth and easy to drink.

Poured this american blonde ale from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. This ale poured a clear golden color, produced a thin white head and left behind a below average amount of lacing. The aroma consisted of grains and some floral hops. Light in body, a foundation of sweet malted grain, caramel and some spicy hops. As far as a blonde ale goes, this one gets fairly high marks. Nice session beer, would be a great intro craft beer.

Bought a 6-pack of this @ Casey's General Store in St. Genevieve, MO for $7.99. Put 5 in a cooler for Memorial Day and kept one to review. Poured from the 12oz bottle into my Samuel Adams Pint Glass. Has no B.O.D. but does say to "Serve Cold" on the side!

Aroma- Nice and sweet malts from the start and a HUGE honey aroma from a foot away from the glass. Has a straw smell too on the backend with a very mild earthy hop. Wonderful!

Appearance- Pours a 2 finger white head with a clear or semi-hazy, golden body. Has decent retention but almost no lace.

Flavor- Very sweet malts again but the honey was light to none at all... Hop was medium but blended well with the rest of the ingredients. Finished a medium-dry with almost no bitterness. Great for the style!

Mouthfeel- Light-Medium Bodied, Medium Carbonation, Smooth, and leaves a malty/honey taste on the palate.

Overall Impression- Was wishing this honey carried over to the Flavor more! Such a great aroma. The drink went down easy as well. This is the best beer I've had from Crown Valley! Will be looking for another 6-pack of this soon!

A - Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, short-lived head of thin white foam. It left behind little to no lace.

S - It smelled of caramel and grains. There was a light floral aroma in the background.

T - It tasted of sweet caramel and grains. There was a nice spicy hop presence that is rarely found in a blonde ale.

M - It was crisp, sharp and finished fairly dry. A light to medium bodied ale.

D - This is a really good blonde ale. It was far better than their pale ale.

I couldn't wait to try this beer hearing good things about it from a beer advocate but he must have either had a fresh bottle or we have very different concepts of great beer!!

A- Was average at best. I poured it into a Pint glass and it retained a one finger head for about 2 mins then it died.

S- Nothing special just a very sweet smell.

The taste and drinkabilty were boring plain and simple!! Does it go down good sure but so does a miller light and I could get a 12 pack for the price I paid for this!!

Nice label with the old Barn prominently displayed, also a note of 5.5% abv and to recycle. Nice

The ol' Barn pours a clear golden straw, with a surprising massive white head bubbling up in the Bitburger pilsner glass. Sticking to the sides like glue. Effervescent tiny carbonation bubbles continue throughout the quaffing.

Aroma is just a light touch of grainy malt, not bad for a blonde. Quaff is a clean and crisp drink, touch of lemon, finishing with a subtle pop o' hop to balance it out.

A well crafted blonde ale, that packs a little punch. Well Done!
