This place has everything you need, plus some stuff you don't need. Nice collection of antique bottle openers in the lobby.

It is in the Michigan Brewing Company building, so you can get some draft beer and food at reasonable prices, plus growlers and six packs to go.

The Things Beer staff is pretty well educated in home brewing, mostly brewers themselves, and very helpful. Large selection of equipment and ingredients. You can even get 50# bags of grain from the brewery, if you have your own mechanism to grind it, as it is whole grain.

A little hard to find at first visit, as it's located in an industrial park just north of the I-96 exit (you can see it from the freeway). It is a really big, modern building that was previously used for something else.

Go past the gas station north of the exit, turn right on the first road and it's just around the curve.

Good homebrew supply store close to the Lansing area. Large selection of beer supplies for an extract brewer such as myself. Carried a good variety of yeast vials, which can sometimes be hard to find as a few of the places in the area will only sell dry packets. Also the selection of pre-weighed grains was the most organized and well labeled that I have ever seen, no looking around to find what you need, just browse the rack and it is right there.

The service was friendly and I was asked a couple times if I needed any help, for this batch I knew exactly what I needed so I did not get a chance to pry into the staff's knowledge, but from what I have heard they are very good. I would hope they are when the store is connected to their brewery.

They are had a good selection of the MBC beers to make a mixed 6er out of for me to buy with my supplies, always good to sample the wares of the store.

Things Beer is located in the same building as the Michigan Brewing Company. You can walk in, sample a few pints, and walk out with everything you need to brew your own beer.

I went in to buy a 5 gallon brew kettle and there were so many pieces of equipment I could put on my wish list. Things Beer also has all the glassware you could ask for.

They have a solid selection of hops, yeast, malt. The expertise is great. If you have questions the people working there can give you an answer. They will make sure that you are getting what you came in for too. If there is something they don't have in stock they will order it for you.

And don't forget to have a beer while you're there.

I stopped by Things Beer after visiting the Michigan Brewing Company, which is essentially in the same building. Walking in the front door, you can go right to the pub area and enjoy some MBC brews, or you can go left to the home brewing supplies, glassware, beer signs, and all of the other things that make Things Beer a cool place to shop.

During the time I was there, a couple of guys were always buzzing around working and making sure I was taken care of. They seemed knowledgeable in brewing and were able to answer all of my questions without much trouble at all. Overall the guys were very helpful.

I think the coolest thing is that they are attached to a real brewery and can answer about anything you want to know about it! They even offered some basic information for achieving some of the flavor profiles of the commercial beers they make. Any questions on one of those new beers they brewed special this month? Head on over to the pub and try it first hand and fresh! Way cool. Nice place - recommended.

Right next door to the Michigan Brewing Company (hidden behind a HUGE gas station).

This place has tons of malt, hop and yeast varieties. I've never actually seen so many different yeasts!

I picked up a few ounces of hop leaves for an American brew (DIPA?), as well as 24 little bottles for a barley wine I'm doing. I got the latest copy of Zymurgy too!

They also have books, spices, flavourings and a variety of adjuncts.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend it.

The Michigan beer scene is pretty cool.

This place will hold your hand if you're a new brewer, and will trade secrets and tips with experienced ones.

They have a really complex array of yeasts, and a more-than-decent supply of all the rest of what you need, including a great range of hops. They make nice little kits assembled from "successful" brews from a local brewing club, as well as "clones" on MBC beers from right next door. These kits are only about $25 on average, which is nice for a new brewer...you're not wasting a ton of money if you biff the brew.

Their breweania store has a massive selection of glassware, and little knicknacks like coaster, neons, mirros, and bottle caps from Guinness and such.

The real gem here is the staff. They all know hat they're doing, they can give solid advice, they have a lot of informaiton to sghare and they are really on top of their sock. Top-notch service. They don't just sit behind the register...they realyy help you make solid beer. I can't say enough about them.

Great place in Mid-Michigan for brewing supplies.

Stopped in this homebrew & brewerania shop after a visit next door to the Michigan Brewing Company. Upon entering, the register is immediately in front. Winding forward will take you into the brewerania section. This is filled with glassware of all kinds. Goodness, they have an amazing selection. Some mirrors and neon lights are also available. From the register, the homebrew area is down a hallway. They have a nice selection of pre-weighed grains, a full selection of equipment, a large area of books, and numerous shelves of miscellaneous brew goodies. In a side room they have a fridges with perhaps 30ish different types of hops and a full selection of yeast. Their wine-making supplies appear to be as extensive as their beer-making supplies. Service was readily available and the two people on hand were fairly knowledgable of brewing specifics (for example, the qualities of particular hops).

Things Beer is a full-service homebrew store that has all the things that are needed. This includes all of the bottles, hops, malt, yeast, and some interesting adjuncts, but seeing that I am not a home brewer this review is of the breweriana store.

The selection of glassware is very nice. They have about two hundred different pint glasses, as well as a handful of specialty glassware. The prices are ok ,being that most glasses were five dollars, but there were also great bargains in the store. They also had a small collection of sign and trays, bottle opens, and about twenty five tap handles.

The service was outstanding; after I picked the glass I wanted, the clerk chatted about the festival with my group. This is a guy that I would ask questions about home brewing since he seems to know his stuff.

With this place right next to Michigan Brewing Company, Things Beer is definitely worthy of a stop to pick up glassware or home brewing supplies, and to get a Michigan brewed beer.

This place is great. Great people, great selection, great prices, I have yet to find anything I don't like, or are disappointed in. They have great starter kits at different levels of complexity, from excited, rich novice to tentative, poor novice. They also offer a variety of starter kits that they have designed, some based on the recipes of the attached MBC. They have nearly every adjunct I can think of, including wormwood for the more adventurous and an enthusiastic staff that is always willing to help. Plus they have a wide array of wine and meadmaking supplies and also carry home-liqueur supplies. They recently had a 10 year anniversary party with food, homemade beer and wine and stout and porter floats provided by MBC. All in all a great place that appreciates its customers and has a great selection at reasonable prices.
