an excellent Australian beer that is full of taste and easy to drink

Taste: peach, mango, citrus and spice with a dash of the ocean.

One of the best beers coming out of Australia: is fruity and well balanced and perfect for sipping on a summers day beside the ocean - just like Byron Bay the origin of the brewery who makes the beer

500ml bottle poured into pint glass 18/3/14

A clear pale golden yellow with streams of tiny bubbles going up the side, you can pour as much head as you want really, 3 fingers of soapy foams easy to muster, good retention and lots of random soapy lace

S massive amounts of tropical fruit, heaps of pineapple, some passion fruit, and nectarine, maybe just a little green grass faint hint of pine, a little lemon, not much going on really but I love it, smells so strong though I can smell it of the table

T just a little toned down but still awesome, not a whole lot of malt going on just a little dry cereal, I see wheat on the label but wouldn't guess it, just heavy on the tropical hops I really can't complain

M light and fluffy, just a little grit, I get a little cereal and pineapple on the finish

O so fresh and hoppy, its simple but so good, light and fruity and so easy to drink, 4.4% so you can keep drinking them

I've already drank quite a few of these in my short time in OZ and I'll be drinking plenty more at this rate. Sweet session beer no doubt, this stuff just sinks into my stomach.

A 330ml bottle with a BB of March 2014. Picked up a little while back from Trembling Madness in York. The label mentions that this brew is inspired by the Pacific ocean and is hopped with Galaxy.

Poured into a tulip pint glass. Bottle conditioned. A bright, hazy golden hue with fine sediment and light carbonation. Yields a large head of white foam that lasts for a minute or two before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Aroma of juicy hops with hints of white grape, melon, tropical fruit, citrus, subtle grass, light malt and earthy yeast. Lovely.

Tastes of fruity aromatic hops with a dry, bitter finish. Notes of white grape, pineapple, tropical fruit, citrus, grass/hay, light malt, earthy yeast and faint stewed hops. Well-attenuated, followed by a delicate bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth and dry, with light carbonation and a decent body for the style. Would benefit from enhanced carbonation and texture. Mildly astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of fruity hops, subtle bitterness and earthy yeast.

Rather nice - a refreshing, fruity pale ale. Looks decent, even though the head doesn't hang around. The aroma and flavour are a showcase for fruity hop notes and yeast, with the light malt playing second fiddle. OK body; could be livelier. I also can't help thinking that the malt presence could be beefed-up a little. Certainly very drinkable - this would be perfect on a hot day. Worth sampling if you have the chance.

I was cycling around west end in Brisbane Australia when I came across a beer paradise called "The Archive". I asked the bar attendant what she recommended and she poured me a large glass of Pacific Ale.

(Like other life changing events you will always remember precise details of when you first tried Pacific Ale). I was a bit hot from exercise. It is not good karma to drink Pacific Ale without earning it-sort of like you have to ascend Borobodur first before appreciating the austerity of Nirvana with the enclosed Buddahs and Merapi in the background..

Ice cold, vibrant light yellow with a slight haze, good head retention-knockout nose with the passionfruit from the galaxy hops evident. But not too much-galaxy can be overpowering.

Taste-clean, great hop presence crisp finish-something very fresh and wholesome about the beer on tap which is not quite the same in the bottled version-I believe stone and wood put freshness at a premium. Not too much alcoholic kick-just enough.

I tried some other beers including some kind of smoky rye lambic high alcohol construction which was interesting but could just manage one small glass.

Mouthfeel? Hell-damn good mouthfeel. Overall an awesome beer but best fresh on tap-the best sessionable beer I know.

A: ~2" bleach-white head, medium retention. A little lacing. A cloudy light banana-yellow colour with quite a lot of carbonation.

S: Huge hit of passion fruit up front, I sense a bit of freshly-cut green apple in there somewhere too. Smells awfully refreshing.

T: Passion fruit at the front of the mouth, continuing from the nose I get some form of green apple puree or apple sauce on the middle of the tongue. Very slight background bitterness at the end. Very little (if any) lingering taste (maybe a little apple sauce/bitterness). Refreshing.

M: Light body and not too thin; very clean and crisp as it goes down, pleasant to drink. Just a bit too much carbonation for me but still nice.

O: A good pale ale, great for a warm night with a BBQ or some spicy food. Would be sessionable for most but the carbonation wouldn't let me. "Refreshing" is definitely the word.

This beer pours a cloudy amber, with a decent head that lingers at a one-finger width, leaving gorgeous lacing down the glass. The smell is complex citrus aromas of orange, grapefruit, mandarin and tinge of funkiness. The taste is malty, passionfruity and grainy. The mouthfeel is perfectly carbonated with a smooth finish. One of my new favourite beers and beautifully crafted.

A: Pours a pale straw color winch a decent head that fades to bits of lacing.

S: Aroma of citrus, some fruit and bit of malt sweetness.

T: Taste of citrus, some fruit and malt sweetness. Nice bitterness and a clean finish.

F: Light body, crisp, clean and refreshing. Nicely balanced.

O: Good beer for the style that goes down easy. Comes across as very fresh and is very sessionable. Worth checking out.

A - Pours a light golden colour that is a touch cloudy. Has a frothy head that dimishes fairly quickly a thin film.

S - Get loads of fruity notes including pineapple, lemon, passionfruit and in particular mango and peach. Very impressive which is more like a dessert than a beer.

T - Get some of the peach and mango, but more of some bitter lemon on the finish. Not what i expected.

M - Light bodied and medium carbonation which seems rather watery.

O - Promised so much at the beginning but I was slightly disappointed overall. Is fairly watery and lacks that real hoppiness with an ordinary bitter finish.
