This beer is retired; no longer brewed.

Beginning with the fifth anniversary of the brewery in 2014, an anniversary saison will be released annually. It combines gin and wine barrels with light use of apricots in a cascade hopped brew, combining elements we love to produce a dry, snappy, and complex profile.

This is awesome.

Open the bottle to a gusher (I'm crying now over the ounce I spilled). It pours a beautiful cloudy golden color with a bright white head. Immediate apricot aromas from two feet away. The nose opens up to bright floral notes. Taste is devine and full of apricot sourness, with heaps of gin character and spice. Mouthfeel is super dry and refreshing.

A perfect saison

From a bottle, pours a cloudy bright yellow with a big fluffy white head that takes forever to dissipate.

The smell is amazing! Very bright citrus, pear, pineapple, orange. Lots of fruit mixed with a little yeast, white grape and earthy funk. The flavor is just as good as the nose indicates. More wheat, yeast than fruit, but still lots of grape, pear, some white pepper and a citrus balance. This is incredibly put together. Really well done.

A - Pours a hazy light orange with a fluffy white head with good retention.

S - Tart lemon citrus, mild malt background.

T - Lemon, wheat, tart, subtle funk.

D - Tons of carbonation with a light body.

O - Crisp citrus and light tartness. An A+ in my book.

Thanks for the bottle, Brian.

Gushing slowly, this beer pours a flowing apricot with a dense, frothy, long lasting off white head that leaves nice lacing. The nose is awesome. Bright gin barrel character with juniper and spruce most noticeable, there's mild orange peel, white grapes and a nice funk. The grape note is mildly musty and green, reminding me in ways of Nelson hops. The funk is earthy, mildly lactic and with a moderate barn house character. Awesome.

The palate opens bright and tart with a pronounced Brett expression. Plenty of clove and a shade of plastic to go with earth, mushrooms and barnyard. The mid palate has some of the saison yeast phenols and spice( white pepper ) along with the barrel characteristics of juniper, spruce, white wine. Drying and quite lemony on the finish, the blend of lemon and juniper is quite nice. A woody spice character is present, which leads to a mild astringency. I can't tell of it's from the gin or wine barrels; it's most noticeable as a drying, tannic presence on the finish, mildly spicy and mildly cedar like. Moderately sweet, surprisingly so, with honey and sugar. Carbonation is moderate. Very nice stuff.

750mL into a tulip. Pours a glowing golden orange w/ a frothy white head that settles to a sudsy film, nice patchy lace. Nice looking brew.

Aroma is fresh and juicy, grassy, earthy. Nice bright, mildly tart saison funk along with citrusy goodness.

Taste is likewise bright and crisp, fresh. Clean orange peel and earthy, grassy funk. Lots of juicy, citrusy hops. A really nice dry oaky quality, I suspect that this beer spent some time in oak barrels, possibly white wine barrels, but I'm not sure about that. This beer is delicious.

Mouthfeel is light and semi-dry, drinkable and refreshing. Can't stop drinking this.

Overall this is a truly outstanding saison, very little room for improvement in any area.

NIcely carbed light orange saison with great juniper and lime zest nose from the gin. Almost a hint of ocean water scent on the nose. A real crispness and clean gin scent. The beer has loads of flavor while being smooth and easy to drink. I get the light gin flavor on the front end with a bit of apricot skin and some bit from Brett maybe? I could drink this beer all day. It is so well balanced and very interesting. More gin saisons everyone. Please.

Pours a cloudy burnt orange/golden orange with a few fingers of foamy white head that laces. The nose is spicy yeast and apricot sweetness, a hint of funk, and in general it's exactly as advertised and welcoming . The taste is a lightly tart and grainy saison with subtle stone fruit layered on top of yeast and a slight alcohol presence. It's a seriously drinkable saison, light-medium and effervescent body with juicy and distinct apricot, and a semi-dry & minimally bitter finish. I can see this developing a bit in the bottle, but it's drinking very well (relatively) fresh.
