Enjoyed from tap at Upright Brewing's cellar.
Overall the best aromatic beer I've had from these guys (other than the sole composition brews). Pours a slightly hazy golden/orange hue with moderate head and fine lace.
Aromas are numerous with emphasis on the saison funk, yeast, and spice (coriander and peppercorn mostly), lots of tree fruit backs this up (more along the lines of apple and fig). The palate follows up nicely but slightly less complex than the nose suggests. There is a true saison style funkiness with some tree fruit, the spice takes a back seat.
On the palate the alcohol does make itself known, but with a snap, not a thunderclap. Medium bodied, good texture, medium long finish with nice grip. Decently balanced other than a bit too much alcohol.
Overall a great beer and a style of which I am rather fond.

Tasted 6 June 2014.
Pours clear golden. Massive dense fluffy head, 3+ fingers. Excellent retention and boatloads of lacing. Fantastic, and demonstrative of how fine-looking saisons can be.
Smell is floral, but dense floral. It's on the simple side, and that one element is good, but not amazing. A lot of Upright's beers smell like this - like someone juiced flower petals. It's pithy and robust, despite being sort of high-in-the-nose aromatic.
Taste has those same floral notes, but a little sharpness. Pretty basic, lacking the depth, variety , or subtlety I want. It's fine.
Feel is okay. Medium-bodied, but definitely on the flat side.
A decent saison. I find that in general, Upright's takes on the style don't completely agree with me, as they all have a heavy flower character that dominates more than I'd like. Perhaps it's their yeast strain, perhaps their choice of ingredients. I'm still waiting to be wowed by them.

750ml bottle into Tired Hands stemware. Shared with schen9303.
Pours a huge, continually frothing 4 finger white head with excellent retention. Beer is a pale, clear goldenrod. Lacing is thick and patchy with great stick. Awesome!
Nose is hugely aromatic. Notes of lemon rind, yogurt, peppercorn, spice, cane sugar and yeast. Very appetizing.
Opens lemon, cane sugar, yeast, coriander and spice. Light tartness in the middle with a foamy body and a sweet cane sugar backbone. Ends crisp, peppery and slightly floral. Same aftertaste. Nicely complex. A very good beer.
Light bodied with ample carbonation. Prickly and lively in the mouth and goes down crisp and aggressive with a relatively clean finish and slightly lingering aftertaste. Very drinkable.
This is possibly the best of the series. Intensely aromatic with great balance and an excellent body. Definitely worth having.
