Scooped this @ the brewery on my last visit. Glowing pale-orange body, nice frothy white head. Calendula flowers add a nice bit of spice and floral punch. Upright delivers a solid saison base as expected - lightly bitter, dry finish. A definite winner - wish I had more.

Nice botanical flavors with a mild hay and straw backbone. Floral with a very mild earthy bitterness, slight herbal dryness. Mild juicy citrus bite. Medium lighter bodied, nice herbal flavors with a hoppy citrus bite. Good carbonation.

this was exceptional beer, i am so glad to have upright back in the colorado market, this was only eleven or twelve bucks for a bottle too, which is insanely fair for how good this is. open fermented, and bottle conditioned, i love that, its got a ton of character, far more than i normally associate with a cultured french saison yeast, not that its wild, but it surely is rustic with its own farmhouse sort of funk to it, not brett, just old school and awesome. its got a soft haze and a pale straw color to it, a huge rising white belgian looking head, dish soap foam texture, rests atop, permanently. the aroma is awesome. on top of the yeast i get a light bready grain mix, floury and sort of starchy, simple but also sort of rustic, earthy and dry. the flowers are obvious too, sort of dried and bitter, not fresh and herbaceous, but very distinct, green tea and something else quite fragrant, bay maybe, very delicate and attractive. the flavor is like the aroma, with the flowers coming on late, with the bitterness of a health tonic, earthy and bright at the same time. there is a wonderful yeast character here that isnt bacterial or bretty but exhibits some spontaneous elements just the same, not overly robust, subtle like everything else happening here. i love the way this comes together, classic and old worldy, soft feeling in body and carbonation, and just enormously impressive overall. i love these guys, and hope to continue to see their beers around here. this is outstanding saison, the exact kind of beer i am in love with right now!

Hazy bright yellow color, slightly off-white head. Aroma is really floral, slightly spicy. Taste is clean and floral, dry and refreshing. I really like it, it's fresh, floral and tasty.
