Appearance: Pours with a darker orange color. Half a finger of head on the pour which settled in to the edges of the glass. Above average active carbonation for the style.
Smell: Salt and lime jump out right away. Well done tartness hits the drinker hard with pleasant wheat additions on the body. There is some pepper and earth on the back end with continuing tartness dominating.
Taste: Bright carbonation and saltiness pulls you in. Full bodied tart fruits, creamy wheat, and some spices open up on the body and really open up. There is some earth and tobacco on the back end which seem unique for a Gose but I certainly don't mind.
Mouthfeel: The tartness isn't overdone with wheat making a potent body. Carbonation is bright yet fitting.
Overall: Really unique Gose but super enjoyable. Earthy back end really sets it apart. Tartness is present yet not overdone. Upright isn't afraid to be different and this is another great example.

750 ml my wife brought back from Portland. Served chilled in a Hoegaarden jam jar glass.
A - Golden hazy body with a thin bright white head that fades quickly.
S - Coriander dominates the nose. Hints of pear, peach, and a just a slight band-aide/medicinal character.
T - Slight tartness with the coriander and salt in perfect balance. Dry finish with stone fruit, spice, and a little saltiness lingering on the palate. I would like this to be just slightly more tart and the coriander dialed back a little bit.
M - Light body, lively and well carbonated. Tart, but not puckering. A little bit tannic with a slight chalky feel.
O - A very fun and well made beer. Light and refreshing with subtle complexities. Given the opportunity, I could easily drink several liters of this.
