An ever changing small batch blend that uses a farmhouse brown ale base with any number of herbs or spices carefully chosen by our brewers to make a complex beer unlike any other. It’s barrel aged for roughly one year and every vintage is different. Cellar for two to four years, depending on vintage.

This batch was "aged in second-use Big Bottom whiskey barrels and made with cubed pepper, elderberries, and grains of paradise."
Original description (2009):
"A Pinot Noir barrel-aged farmhouse-brown ale brewed with pomegranate seeds, grains of paradise and Tasmanian peppercorns. Late Harvest was brewed August 11th, 2009, and barrel-aged for over 8 months before yielding only 75 cases being cellared at the brewery until its release."

Fall 2011 Update:
"The 2011 recipe was brewed in November with coriander, bitter orange peel, and long pepper, and has been maturing in two wine barrels, one Old Tom Gin barrel and one Whippersnapper Whiskey barrel."
Hops: magnum
Malts: organic pale, caramel, aromatic
Unmalted: black barley, rolled barley
Also: grains of paradise, pomegranate seeds, Tasmanian peppercorns
Yeast: French saison

Big ups to hophead 84 for crakin this bottle out at barrel blast
A: poured a chocolate brown in color with yellowish highlights and had a half finger of head leaving some bubbly lacing sticking to the glass.
S: the aroma did saome spice, floral, vinegar, and slight raspberries notes but I was able to sniff out pomegranate, peppercorn, tart, and acidic notes with hints of citrus.
T: the wine barrel and vinous character was more apparent on the palate with pomegranate, peppercorn, spice, tart accents and a touch of acidic citrus; pretty complex flavor.
M: the brew was medium in body with a good amount of carbonation which had a spice, slight fruity, citrusy, acidc, and tart finish.
D: I really enjoyed their take on a saison farmhouse style brew which was tasty and drank quite well. Definitely had more dimension than your average farmhouse style beer.

750 bottle pour into a tulip glass. Deep brown, slightly hazy off white pillowy head which lasts for a while. Smell is tart whiskey with hint of spice. Taste is chocolate toffee, vanilla, whiskey, with a slight tart finish, dry. Nice medium body with complex flavors. Solid but not amazing.

Not sure of the vintage, but believe it might have been the 2012. Pours a hazy amber-brown with a light tan head. Nose is very much reminiscent of pumpkin pie - it reminds me very much of a winter warmer. Taste is also similar to a winter warmer; however, there's also a peppery quality and the grains of paradise are also discernible in the spice and malt profile. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with an easy carbonation. Overall, I'm not really clear on how this beer can be classified as a farmhouse ale. In that regard, it falls a bit short; however, as a winter warmer, it's quite pleasing.
